🔙 Run it back to 2012, when:
◉ Manchester United scored 85 goals as a club
◉ Paris Saint-Germain scored 86 goals as a club
◉ Chelsea scored 87 goals as a club
◉ Borussia Dortmund scored 88 goals as a club
◉ Lionel Messi scored 91 goals on his own 😍🔥
🗣️ Gianluigi Buffon: “Messi is a once-in-a-generation player. It’s unlikely any human being will repeat his numbers.”
Happy birthday to the legend Leo Messi. ❤️
🚨Leo Messi scored 4 penalty goals in the World Cup 2022 & since then Ronaldo fans always try to remove penalties!
So if we remove penalty goals, then:
➡️ Ronaldo wouldn’t be the all time top scorer of football
✅ It would be Lionel Messi
➡️ Ronaldo wouldn’t have the record of scoring goals in 6 World Cup tournaments
✅ Messi would be the only player to score goal in 5 different World Cup
➡️ Ronaldo wouldn’t have had any hattrick in the World Cup
✅ Messi would have had 1 hattrick in World Cup
Remember: Lionel Messi reached World Cup final & won the golden ball in 2014 without even getting 1 penalty kicks! 😱👀

🚨🗣️ Arsène Wenger on Lionel Messi becoming the World Cup’s all-time leading goalscorer:
"I have never seen a player like Lionel Messi. He is a different breed, a completely different kind of footballer.
People compare him with Cristiano Ronaldo, and while Ronaldo is one of the greatest players to ever play the game, Messi is something else entirely. He sees passes before anyone else, creates chances out of nothing and scores goals with an ease that almost looks unfair.
What amazes me the most is that he never forces the game. He doesn't chase headlines or try to prove anything. He simply reads the moment, waits for the right opportunity and destroys opponents with his intelligence.
In all my years as a manager and in all the football I have watched, I have never seen another player who combines vision, creativity, dribbling, goals and playmaking the way Lionel Messi does.
For me, he is one of a kind, and I don't think football will ever produce another player quite like him." 🐐🇦🇷
Lionel Messi on the 100-year-old fan holding the “100 YEAR OLD MESSI FAN” banner:
🗣️ “When I saw her in the stands… I honestly had to hold myself together. In that moment, football disappeared for me. It wasn’t a stadium anymore, it wasn’t noise, it wasn’t pressure it was just emotion.”
“Someone who has lived a whole century of life… through wars, through generations, through everything the world has endured… and she is still here, smiling, holding my name in her hands. I don’t even know how to explain what that feels like.”
“It made me think about everything my first steps in football, the dreams I had as a child, the sacrifices my family made… and somehow, through all those years, my name reached someone like her. It’s overwhelming.”
“I don’t deserve something like that. No player does. Because this goes beyond football. This is love from a lifetime, not just a moment.”
“I looked at her and I just wanted to stop time for a second… to say thank you properly. Not as a footballer, but as a human being who understands how rare it is to be loved like that for so long.”
“There are goals that make noise, trophies that make headlines, but this… this was something completely different. Pure, unconditional connection between two lives that were never meant to meet, but somehow did through football.”
“If I could give her anything, it wouldn’t be a shirt or a photo. It would be time. Because the fact she spent part of her life supporting me… I will carry that forever.”
“When I retire, I will remember nights like this more than anything else. Because at the end of everything, football is not about records… it is about hearts that connect without even speaking.”
“And in that moment, I realized something very simple… I am not just playing for trophies. I am playing for people like her.”
🚨JUST IN 🚨
Before the start of the 2026 World Cup, Inter Miami’s Coach Guillermo Hoyos organized an in-house tournament called the ‘Super Liga’ with the squad divided into a series of small-sided teams. Each team had a captain who, in turn, picked the teams. Players could be transferred between them. All results were then written on a whiteboard, as were other performance metrics, such as goals scored. The games were intense but respectful.
On the final day of the Super Liga season, the champion was announced. Not only did Lionel Messi's team win, but the stats were also jaw-dropping. Messi scored more than 80 goals over the tournament. No other Inter Miami player had more than 30. 🤯⚽️🐐 ✍️@TheAthleticFC

🐐 THE GOAT
🚨🎙️ Pep Guardiola was asked:
“Who is the GOAT between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo?”
🗣️ Pep Guardiola smiled:
“Honestly, I don't like this debate anymore because people always want a five-second answer for a question that deserves five hours.”
🗣️ “The moment you say Messi, Ronaldo fans get angry. The moment you say Ronaldo, Messi fans get angry.”
🗣️ “Football is not social media. Football is not about choosing a side in ten seconds.”
🗣️ “To understand greatness, you have to understand football first.”
🗣️ “Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest competitors I have ever seen in any sport.”
🗣️ “His mentality is unbelievable. His discipline is unbelievable. The way he transformed himself from a winger into the greatest goalscorer football has ever seen is something that should be studied.”
🗣️ “You don't score that many goals by accident.”
🗣️ “You don't dominate England, Spain, Italy and international football by accident.”
🗣️ “Cristiano earned every single achievement he has.”
🗣️ “But then there is Messi.”
🗣️ “And this is where the conversation changes.”
🗣️ “When I coached Messi, I realized very quickly that I wasn't looking at a normal football player.”
🗣️ “I was looking at football itself.”
🗣️ “There are players who score goals.”
🗣️ “There are players who create goals.”
🗣️ “There are players who control matches.”
🗣️ “Messi does all three at the same time.”
🗣️ “People see the goals.”
🗣️ “I see the passes nobody else sees.”
🗣️ “I see the spaces nobody else understands.”
🗣️ “I see the decisions that change games before anyone realizes what happened.”
🗣️ “That's why I always laugh when people compare football only through statistics.”
🗣️ “Football is much deeper than statistics.”
🗣️ “If football was only about goals, then maybe the debate would be different.”
🗣️ “But football is also creativity.”
🗣️ “Football is intelligence.”
🗣️ “Football is influence.”
🗣️ “Football is making everyone around you better.”
🗣️ “And for me, nobody has ever done that better than Messi.”
🗣️ “Can Ronaldo be called one of the greatest ever?”
🗣️ “Of course.”
🗣️ “Without any doubt.”
🗣️ “But if you ask me personally, if you ask me honestly, if you ask me as somebody who watched Messi every day…”
🗣️ “Then my answer is Lionel Messi.”
🗣️ “Not because Ronaldo isn't incredible.”
🗣️ “He is.”
🗣️ “Not because Ronaldo didn't change football.”
🗣️ “He did.”
🗣️ “But because Messi changed the way football is understood.”
🗣️ “That is a different level.”
🗣️ “And maybe some Ronaldo fans will criticize me for saying this.”
🗣️ “That's okay.”
🗣️ “I respect Cristiano enormously.”
🗣️ “But I cannot ignore what my eyes have seen.”
🗣️ “For many years I watched Messi do things that should not be possible on a football pitch.”
🗣️ “Things that coaches cannot teach.”
🗣️ “Things that defenders cannot stop.”
🗣️ “Things that only belong to geniuses.”
🗣️ “Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest players in football history.”
🗣️ “Lionel Messi is the greatest footballer I have ever seen.”
🐐🇦🇷✨
🗣️ “Sometimes the hardest answer to give is also the simplest one.”
🚨Luis Figo on Joao Neves saying Cristiano Ronaldo is just an ordinary player like the rest of his Portugal teammates and Bruno Fernandes dropping a like under his Instagram post.
🗣️ First of all I respect Cristiano Ronaldo for all he's done for our country all these years. He's a Portuguese legend and loved by everyone but I question his leadership abilities.
In Euro 2004 I was still playing for the national team coach along with Deco. Cristiano Ronaldo was the youngest player in the squad. Everyone treated him with love and respect despite being older than him. We saw his abilities on the pitch we gave him passes to do the dirty job.
Today he's above 40 and still playing for the national team. I expected him to play with little selfishness. Against Dr Congo, Bruno Fernandes was in a better position to score. He was calling for him to pass the ball but he shot instead and failed to convert.
I saw many Portuguese citizens blaming Bruno Fernandes for dividing the team but that's not the issue. Cristiano Ronaldo as the Oldest player needs to unite the dressing room with Roberto Martinez.
If you look at the Argentina national team, you will see all the players treating Lionel Messi with respect including the coaches. This isn't because he won 8 Ballon D'ors,no! he's down to the Earth. He knows how to keep his teammates happy on and off the pitch.
Everyone in the Argentina team can sacrifice anything to see him happy because he treats them like a family and not strangers. Cristiano Ronaldo should learn from that. You can have the talent but Character is very important in every field of life.
🚨🤍 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Yan Diomande emotional letter to his late sister:
"Dear Roxane,
Remember when somebody bought me a fake United jersey, and I wrote Ronaldo 7 on the back with the black marker?"
"We didn’t know rich or poor. We just knew happiness."
"Remember 25 people sleeping in one house back in Abidjan? Mum wanted to watch her soap operas. Everyone else wanted to watch movies. Remember how I always used to fake like I was asleep and then go into the TV room after midnight? I’d put the TV on real low. Just like 2 volume bars. I’d watch football in the dark and dream."
"Remember when the adults saw me playing football in the dirt and nicknamed me “Roberto Carlos” because of how hard I would shoot? And remember how I was secretly so mad about it, because CR7 was my idol?"
"Remember when I went to play so far from home? I was 9 years old. Inter Foot Sud Comoé, all the way near the Ghana border. Just a little boy on his own. I don’t know if I ever told you this story, but me and the other kids used to go into the village and steal potatoes because we were so hungry. We did a “bank heist.” Two kids distracting the shop owner, and 18 other kids running out with two potatoes. They weren’t even good. But they tasted amazing. Hahahah. It’s still my favorite thing to eat. Boiled potatoes with some oil. It reminds me of those times."
"Remember when I got my first real football boots, and I used to sleep with them? Growing up, I always played in those white plastic sandals. Even when I go back home now, I still play in them. It’s our tradition."
"Remember when I would come back home, and you would tell my friends from the neighborhood, “Why did you stop training? Yan is not going to buy you cars. You have to keep working."
"You were 10 years old, and already my agent."
"Remember how we used to sit and dream about moving to France? How we were going to go shopping and get our own apartment and I was going to be a rich footballer with cars and a big house, and you wouldn’t have to worry about nothing. You were the one who always believed that I could be the next Cristiano, when everybody else laughed."
"Remember when I moved to America for high school at 15, and I was so homesick? I didn’t know what anybody was saying for months. They sat me next to a French kid, and he tried to translate everything the teacher was saying. Remember when I called you, saying, “You won’t believe it, the kids here argue with teachers."
"Back home, you know we wouldn’t even dare to blink at our elders."
"Remember when I couldn’t believe the kids were smoking after school? You used to say it sounded like I was in an American TV show."
"Remember when they took me on trial at Bournemouth? At Chelsea, Rangers, Olympiacos, Crystal Palace? Eze and Olise even came up to me after one training and said, “Yo kid, you’re really good.”"
"But they still didn’t sign me."
"Even the B teams in the MLS didn’t want me. I didn’t even know why. They never gave me a reason. The adults handled everything. They just kept taking me all around Europe, and everybody kept saying no."
"My visa was up. My dream was over. They sent me back to Africa, and we cried together."
"You were the one who never stopped believing. A few weeks later, I signed for Leganés and we cried different tears."
"That was back when I used to have emotions. Now, I don’t feel anything. It’s like I’m not even human. Since you died, I’m just blank."
"I don’t even think I shed a tear the day they told me that you were gone. I was just in shock."
"It was a few weeks after I made my debut for Leganés. Who makes their debut at 18 against Real Madrid? It was too crazy. It was a dream."
"And then it was a nightmare. Someone kept calling me from back home. I was annoyed. I didn’t understand why they kept calling me."
"I picked up, and they didn’t even soften it. You know how it is back home. No emotions. Just……..
“Your sister is gone.”
“What?”
“She died.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Somebody put something in her drink at a party, and she never woke up. She is gone.”
"You were 15."
"15."
"I never got any answers. I don’t know if I want to know why. Maybe it was jealousy. Maybe it’s just something that happens in our country. Maybe I could have protected you. I don’t know."
"I try to trust God’s plan. It’s all I can do. I don’t try to forget, because I know I won’t forget. All I can do is use the pain to work harder, and to do everything we dreamed about."
"I wrote this because I can’t speak about it. I wrote this because I want you to know that I will make sure that you live on. I will make sure that everybody knows your name. The whole world."
"Everything I do on a football pitch, it’s for you."
"So much has happened since I last saw you…… You would not even believe it. I don’t know if I believe it."
"You know what’s crazy? After my debut against Madrid, I actually swapped shirts with Mbappé. Remember when we used to watch him on TV, and you’d say, “Mbappé? Yeah, he’s good. But my brother is better.”
"I was wrong about one thing. I don’t want to be rich. I see what it does to people, even to family. When I was at Leganés, everything I was earning, I was sending home. It got to the point where I didn’t even want money anymore. It was just a burden. They never stopped asking. I guess they thought I was a millionaire already. I didn’t even have an apartment. I was living at the training ground in a room with no TV. Just football and sleep, football and sleep."
"I didn’t want a big house. I didn’t want cars. I just wanted to put everything into football. Everything to show the world that my sister was right……."
"Ha…. you will think this is funny. When I moved to play at RB Leipzig, I was always late. Well, not late. But I was on time, which in Germany means you’re very late."
"So you already know what I did next. I started arriving 90 minutes early to everything. I was so early all the time that the guys started calling me “The German.”"
"I always have to overdo everything. I have zero chill. You always said that."
"The pitch is the only place that I feel at home anymore. It’s the place where I feel calm, and I can speak to you. I just wish you were still here so I could tell you….. We did it."
"Everything you said came true."
"We’re leaving for the World Cup tomorrow. For real. Your brother is going to play for Côte d'Ivoire, like Drogba, like Yaya, like Gervinho."
"I don’t even look at it like a game. I look at it like a stage. This is my chance to show the whole world what you saw in me. Every time I score, I’ll make sure everybody knows your name. I’ll make sure they don’t forget you."
"You always said that I could be better than Cristiano. If I see him there, I’ll tell him hello for you."
"I’m going to do what you predicted, I swear. Before I even had real boots, you were telling everybody, “My brother is going to be the greatest in the world.”
"I will prove that you were right, or I will die trying... Your brother, Yan."
