BREAKING: We just won a temporary restraining order in our elections case.

That means the Postal Service can't force a new rule giving it the power to deny your ballot, just one week before ballots go out.

The court said the rule would cause "irreparable harm," was "practically impossible" to comply with, and likely unconstitutional.

It would have caused chaos in our election.

We stopped it for now, and we'll keep defending free and fair elections.

🚨For years, David Johnson — Ojai pastor, and self-appointed guardian of “traditional family values” — flooded his feed warning that “sick people” shouldn’t be “allowed to be around young impressionable minds.” He demanded “TOTAL EDUCATION REFORM,” raged about drag queens “grooming” kids, and called trans people a “steep slope” straight to societal collapse.

Now it’s Johnson, 58, sitting in Ventura County jail without bail, accused of horrific crimes against children.

He’s been charged with six felony counts: four counts of lewd acts upon a child and two counts of continuous s*xual abuse, with special allegations of substantial s*xual conduct involving victims under 14.

Prosecutors say the alleged abuse of two children happened over several years, in Ojai and Oxnard, and that Johnson had access to them through a family relationship.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to call Ventura County Sheriff’s Detective Michael Loth at 805-384-4745.

A bail review hearing is set for Aug. 28.

Johnson’s Facebook is built around casting himself as a guardian against other people supposedly endangering kids.

In Nov 2022 he asked how “sick people” (LGBTQ people) are “even allowed to be around young impressionable minds,” demanding “TOTAL EDUCATION REFORM.”

In Sept 2019 he called a school’s gender-identity program “Sickening.”

In March 2023 he called a district hiding kids’ gender status from parents “the beginning of the end.”

Every time, the target was someone else — a school board member, a teacher, an LGBTQ program — never the pastors like himself who are getting arrested regularly for grooming and s*xually abusing children.

Not a drag queen. Not a trans person. Not a Muslim. Not a socialist. Not an immigrant.

Just another “family values” MAGA pastor.

Roy on midterm voting restrictions: I think you're seeing a lot of people in North Carolina, particularly on college campuses, are having an "I'll show you" attitude. "You're not going to take our vote away. We'll show you."

I went to North Carolina A&T State University, the largest HBCU in North Carolina. They removed that ballot box from their campus, but the students are marching to the nearest polling place and they're spreading the word that it's really important for them to get out and vote in this election because our country needs a course correction. And that's what they can do in these midterms by putting the checks and balances back into the Constitution that the framers intended.

🚨Nicholas Powell, 34, of Andrews, Texas — diehard Trump supporter and neo-Confederate — has been arrested on child s*xual abuse charges.

Powell was arrested after the FBI’s Midland office tipped the Andrews County Sheriff’s Office to a possible s*xual assault in the county. Detectives identified Powell as the suspect and traced him to a residence about 18 miles southwest of Andrews.

Before dawn Sunday, deputies and Andrews PD served a warrant there and took him into custody without incident.

Powell is charged with a first-degree felony count of aggravated s*xual assault of a child, plus a third-degree felony count of possession of child s*xual abuse materials involving a child under 10. The investigation is ongoing.

Before his arrest, Powell’s Facebook was a case study in MAGA racism: a Trump 2020 flag flying next to a Confederate flag reading “We would’ve had it made,” a picture of Powell wearing a Trump mask with the caption “Trump 2020,” hand-painted Confederate flag cornhole boards, and a “joke” post mocking a fictional all-Black “Snow White” remake, complete with dwarf names like “Dealer,” “Stealer” and “Mugger.”

He’s currently held at the Andrews County Jail.

Not a drag queen. Not trans. Not an immigrant. Not a Muslim.

Yet another racist Trump supporter.
