5 years ago today Tottenham Hotspur were one of the English clubs who tried to pull the football ladder up from under them, by announcing their involvement in the short-lived European Super League.
Their proposal would have broken the fundamental rule that underpins the national game - that sliver of a dream all fans have, that their team might climb the pyramid and compete with the best.
It seems fitting and ironic that today Spurs sit in the relegation zone having still not won this calendar year.
They tried to leave the Premier League for greener pastures, instead Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of relegation.
And because of their willingness to betray the national game, few fans from ‘the other 14’ will have any sympathy at all.
Before game = “You’ll never walk alone”
58mins in = abandoning away end
After game = those who stayed start abusing players leading to their best player this season giving them some shit back
The Fanbase that just keeps on giving
Richarlison pre match comments on Spurs & Everton coach welcomes:
“I know we have a big game v Notts Forest but I was a little disappointed by the this coach welcome. I mean it was good but maybe because what I witnessed at Everton was nothing short of sensational”
Just thinking about this scenario makes me smile
Imagine this!
All the shit their fans gave us the last few years & the WOOOO bit of Spirit of the Blues they hate so much ringing around the now “Best stadium in the Championship” at full time
The irony! It would be magical
We have been made aware of a distressing image doing the rounds today, suggesting Tottenham have beaten us 3-1.
This has clearly been photoshopped, and we will be taking this up with the relevant authorities.
Even we'd beat Spurs...
Have to give it to Tottenham. With their North London neighbours single handedly ruining football, Spurs are playing a brand of football that is really entertaining everyone.
The date Everton recorded 40 points during the last five seasons 🔵⚽️

Love Moyes but f*ck me he’s frustrating at times
This line up is mind boggling
Not sure if it’s me but every time he seems to get a near full fit squad he does struggle to get the best out of it
That said, I’m still grateful for where he has led us
best CM playing right back - RB on the bench.
Our next CB playing left back. LB on the bench.
A very descent young CM playing left wing.
Bang average CM playing when ones left wing and ones on the bench who ran the midfield against villa and hasn’t been seen since.

David Moyes has won 11 of his 22 Premier League away matches since returning to the club, this is more away wins than Everton managed across their previous 67 away games, a period which includes all of Rafael Benitez, Frank Lampard and Sean Dyche’s away wins combined (W10).
