Complaining about nightlife when you *checks notes* choose to live in Soho is like living in South Kensington and complaining about the museums. Or moving to Hackney and grumbling about creatives. Living in Richmond and hating green space. It's all getting a bit silly, isn't it?
@NigelPlaner1 Brilliant book - loved it from start to finish. Brought back happy memories of Wandsworth Bridge Road where my great grandad had a show menders.
@mehdirhasan Before commenting you should really take the time to understand the UK political system and the way we are governed. There are strong parties in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Plus we’re three years from an election so this poll is hypothetical
Important to remember that footballers are human beings. When Megan Sharpley, Dwight McNeil’s partner, underwent major surgery in 2023, the Everton player slept by her bed in the hospital, supporting her in such a difficult time. “You dressed me, you washed me, you carried me, you injected me, you juggled all your commitments whilst supporting me and never complained,” she posted at the time. McNeil played three times for Everton in that period.
I once spent a couple of hours with Dwight and Megan at an Everton In The Community event and they’re a strong couple. As strong couples do, Megan now stands up for her frustrated partner following the collapse of his move to Crystal Palace and, she says in her powerful, heartfelt post on Instagram, Palace’s failure to communicate reasons or show compassion.
Palace may well be able to provide an explanation. Their fans are currently on forums suggesting their club should. Football’s an industry, as well as a sport, but it is worth remembering the human side to those involved.
Last two occasions #efc won PL game when previous PL win was against same club:
Burnley 2023/24 (Dyche against previous club)
Forest 2025/26 (Dyche against previous club)
It’s free for three days.
You should probably grab it. Or gift it.
I wrote it for people who grew up on 80s TV and chaos.

On 2nd December 1971, a little boy named Anthony was born. Today, on what would have been his 54th birthday, we are thinking of him and how the stem cell register created in his name changed the world.
Happy Birthday Anthony, and thank you for your lifesaving legacy. 💚

Our tweets used to get roughly 3400 interactions.
Now it’s in the hundreds 🤷🏻♂️😢
Finding stem cell matches is a numbers game, so traction really matters to accounts like ours.
16-30 register with @AnthonyNolan or 17-55 it’s @DKMS_uk

@GavinBuckland1 Spot on - we always say people forget football happened before the Premier League, now we have to remind them it happened before the turn of the century too!
Great mix of old and new songs in a wonderful venue from @tanita_tikaram last night in Kingston, thank you @BanquetRecords.
Highly recommend the new album and got it on repeat, brought back happy memories of the Ancient Heart tour (although this venue much more picturesque).
On the holiest day of the year we are attacked at a Manchester synagogue. Our children walk to school behind barbed wire protected by guns. Yet some still answer this atrocity with “what about…” This is my country, the sanctuary my grandfather found after surviving the Holocaust, promising freedom under the rule of law. Today I pray for the victims, thank the brave who responded and wonder if that promise is fading. A community this small cannot stand alone. If you believe in Britain (wherever you’re from & whatever your faith) you must stand with us. Many Jews cannot imagine a future here and history tells us what follows when that happens.
