Elections mean parties.
Parties mean ideology.
Ideology means not doing the right thing in the circumstances.
A second house, free of appointments, parties and elections, would be free to deliberate on each issue properly

@OxfordDiplomat For Europe, why not start negotiating with the regimes of underpopulated countries for space to develop dual-sovereignty cities (like Hong Kong was) where refugees could start new lives, safe from the political pressures that made them refugees in the first place

@OxfordDiplomat The ONLY legitimate and feasible ways of addressing this problem is to ensure that FIRST the UK has a proper working system of assessing refugee claims available where the refugees currently are and 2ND to cooperate with the rest of Europe. Humanity first!
