I've been reviewing amateur and professional theatre in Greater Manchester for more than 30 years and I'm passionate about its ability to educate and entertain.
I HAVE just watched the final episode of Channel 4's Tip Toe. The end, featured the most shocking violence I think I've ever seen on screen. The most disturbing reminder of the dangers of intolerance from a drama that must be BAFTA bound.
HOORAY! I've got my tickets for Dynamo at The Lowry in January. Can't wait, something to look forward to during those dark and dreary days. As opposed to those dark and dreary days we call summer!
I THINK Josephine Jobert is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. More importantly, she comes across as most un-celebrity like, a really nice person. Happy to date you, if you're ever in Altrincham!
WELL, I hold my hands up about Tip Toe. After being totally underwhelmed by episode one I was well and truly won over watching this potential BAFTA winning drama from the pen of Russell T Davies.
A QUICK glance through my emails and I've discovered the magician Dynamo is coming to The Lowry in January. This guy's amazing, check him out on youtube.
JUST had another fabulous meal at Yara in Altrincham. Their Damas chicken is to die for, topped with chips and a Greek salad. I simply haven't had chicken as tender as this.
HOW dare JD Vance comment on the tragic case of Henry Nowak. It's nothing to do with him or the vile regime he's a part of. Please, please you American voters, kick this lot out at the next election.
WATCHED a wonderful documentary about the latest artist/genius Andy Warhol on Sky Arts last night. Nearly 40 years after this great man's death his works remain timeless and deeply affecting and still relevant.
DOES anyone know what's going on in Altrincham town centre? A large number of roads have been dug up. Even better if they got the potholes sorted out. My bus journey home is in parts like being on a stagecoach!
BOUGHT a copy of the 1989 Rainbow annual from the Oxfam shop in Altrincham. The children's TV show, not the rock band! Forty years on I've still not managed to work out what Zippy actually was.
DEAR England, the drama about football manager Gareth Southgate, is a super watch, painting an engaging portrait of a sensitive, thoughtful and fundamentally decent man.
WHO choses the guests on Have I Got News For You? At the moment there's a hell of a lot of barrel scraping going on, as any viewers who tuned in last night to watch Jo Coburn and that charlatan of a comedian will testify.
WIPED away a tear or two during Pep's last game as City boss on Sunday. I am too young to appreciate the great City side of the 60s but this Spanish genius has left me and many, many more with so many happy memories.
I HAVE been watching Man City matches for more than 30 years but was too young to appreciate the great City side of the 60s and early 70s. Thanks to our manager, Pep Guardiola, I have been able to enjoy fantasy football.
