If Israel had the ability to save every baby in Gaza, it would.
If Gazans had the ability to kill every baby in Israel, they would.
That is the difference.
@mfreivald This is the wrong question. The Book of Mormon reveals that God speaks to all people in the language of their own understanding by inviting and enticing to do good. To the extent that anyone chooses good over evil, they are following Christ, regardless of affiliation or belief.
The problem of evil is only a problem for those who believe God created everything including evil. A God who creates evil and arbitrarily punishes it's creations for the evil it created is per se evil. This makes many theological ideas such as Calvinism evil. If instead, good and evil are not created but just attributes of reality like up and down or in and out, and God didn't create evil but rather created the means to escape it, then God is the greatest possible good. That is the revealed genius of the restored Gospel.
Coming to terms with anything eternal is an asymptotic struggle for all time bound mortals. We approach it endlessly without ever arriving with our temporal intellect. Understanding eternity in any degree requires revealed spiritual calculus. The good news is that in the Restored Gospel, God does not condemn us for our intellectual limitations. No human will be able to explain eternity to you. It's something that must be experienced. And even then, our perception is but a small sample of the fullness.
@LDS_Dems Statements like this prove we're not a cult. We can radically disagree on highly charged issues and still be united in our faith and love of Christ. Those who put their political ideology above their spiritual commitments end up betraying both.
Final Part 6: Did Joseph Smith actually restore early Christianity?
Last video of the six part series.
Specials thanks to @Eternal_Saints_ . I stumbled onto his account last year and it spurned me onto LDS thought.
@Mormonger@JS_StrngstSldr It's not progress. It's cyclical. The same arguments go round and round in turn. Very few dig deep enough to find out that old tropes have repeatedly failed. They think they are cleverly saying something new when it's just the same old nonsense.
In a world with evil men, a truly good man isn’t harmless - he’s just as capable of violence but chooses restraint to defend the good from the bad. Capability + control = protector. Peace through strength🔥
Would you be willing to defend against evil?
@Bar_tolmi You claim to be looking but unable to find evidence. Those actually looking find evidence in abundance and recognize your claims as inconsistent with the evidence.
@Bar_tolmi Very sad. The DNA, language, archeology, relics are all there in support of the Book of Mormon. But they matter little without the spirit. You stopped looking too soon.
@Eternal_Saints_@stackerco Part of the problem is language. Regression orients the Gods in time, one before or after another. But time is not measured to Eternal beings. The concepts of before and after are misapplied to God's. They are all one eternal round that transcends time.
Eternal means outside of time. It is not endless time. Eternal transcends time. It is in all time at once. Time is measured only unto mortals. Time is part of the veil. Eternal is timeless. The beginning and the end, alpha and Omega, these are just symbolic expressions in our time bound tongue to describe as best we can a state outside of time.
