He’s super clear in his communication.
I read this on the Arsenal website the other day and I was sure Martinelli and Jesus may not make it back into that squad unless something unexpected happens.
The politics of it, of course, is lesser stated but the players involved are very aware of what’s happening.
And it’s big deal because it’s Arsenal. Bayern Munich would have put your image in a frame and get everyone to clap for you.
Man City told Kevin De Bruyne he’d not get a new contract. He was surprised.
One of the craziest stories I’ve read was about Vladimir Coufal. West Ham didn’t give him a new contract and he said the conversation lasted thirty seconds.
Read what he said:
“Potter told me the club wouldn’t be extending my contract. I asked him why, and he said it was a club decision. Was it the manager who didn’t want me? The board? I have no idea. It was very disappointing. Our conversation lasted about 30 seconds.
“Five years at the club… for 30 seconds. The hardest moment was going home and telling my wife and kids. We cried and I was sad for her because she was leaving friends behind in London. My son (Nicolas, aged nine) had signed a contractwith West Ham’s academy. I didn’t know how to explain to him that we would have to move to a new country. I was no longer good enough to stay at the club he loves. He started crying and didn’t want to speak to me for two days. He thought daddy would carry on at West Ham forever.”
It’s definitely not an easy conversation to have and I feel for Martinelli especially.
That’s his first club in Europe and he must feel so much at home in London and at Arsenal, especially at this time.
But when the player isn’t growing at the same pace as the club, some people will be left behind.
Arsenal outgrew Zinchenko, outgrew Jesus, and have outgrown Martinelli. There are good players the club will still outgrow and they’ll have to leave.
The game is the game.

Someone needs to do a proper analysis of Messi’s game management this tournament.
Starts off centrally then spends the last 15 minutes of the game on the right cooking already exhausted fullbacks and then influences the game.
