@MoeChauvin This was 35 lbs/acre of rye disked in the summer before and left to winter along with volunteer wheat. Was a very dense mat. Our biggest issue was fertilizer since we aren't equipped for no till corn. Got lucky with rains to wash in our surface applied 28% with the sprayer.

@MoeChauvin If your planter is capable, strongly recommend planting right into it. Had a very similar "experiment" last year. Tried short disking it and was a mess. Very nervously decided to plant right into it and it yielded just as good as our conventional despite uneven emergence.

@kyledecorte And too elaborate, earliest planted, DKC 49-09 small 7 acre field by a bush protected from those May frosts, extreme mid season drought, and extremely poor yield.

@MdMcLean1 Funny story, I actually worked a 4 month co-op with Kenna who facilitates the rebates for BASF, my job was to audit the rebates going out to growers. I don't think I've ever related to a tweet more.

A month and a half later, the thumb and coupler are finally installed and plumbed. I can't believe how handy the extra reach of the pro link thumb is, I'm not sure I could go back to a regular one. Definitely looking forward to all the spring cleanup jobs now!
