@Coach_Yac If the 49ers were as bad at drafting as critics said, then how are they consistently making deep playoff runs? My belief is that the 49ers have a system set up for prolonged success. With that said, they seem to target specific fits to that system rather than BPA.

@Coach_Yac A 2nd feels right. Yes there is risk but I would rather have a player that can be on the field with Purdy to help him win rather than his contingency plan. Kyle now has a track record of restoring QBs careers. There would likely be a line of Qbs looking to get that chance.

@grantcohn Most years. The 49ers are drafting in the back end of the round. Since they have been so close to that 6th Superbowl, they have been trying to fill specific needs as opposed to taking best player available. Barring injuries, this team is always in the conversation for a SB!
