@nytdavidbrooks has an oped about immigration and progress--dynamists vs stasists-cosmopolitanists vs communitarians. So many of our debates don't fit neatly into L/R, D/R. And interestingly this one unifies the capitalists and the philanthropists (they're both cosmopolitanist)..

@David_Fairchild This. Is. So. True! I have seen that in many situations. We sometimes see someone exercising real spiritual gifts and assume it means that they are within the will of God in all they are doing. But people often continue to exercise supernatural gifting after they have strayed.

@davidrawls77 You're weird. I have a beard. I have had it since I could grow one. It is a way of stating my values in a clear physical manner. I'm lazy. Shaving hurts my neck and face, so I only do the minimum. Saves me time to spend with Jesus. Is that why you don't want to hang out with us?

@lukedsimmons I think the design of your office with glass -- so visibility but not audibility--is a good safeguard. I think just making sure to be circumspect and think of it as you did is key--I think failures happen most often when someone just moves through a situation without forethought!

@lensweet Amen, so important to not only know the Word of God but to also abide in Christ day in, day out, morning & evening, and seek the Spirit's wisdom and grace for every situation. Many of us do this in our individual walk with Christ--but how do we do it AS A BODY? got me thinking!

@the_blind_guide I think what can be at least implied from some Biblical passages is that God values and is involved in pre-natal life (psalm 139, Jeremiah 1:5). Do you agree with that?
