Photographs from the series 'In The Terraces' by @rickyadam
This series of works documents the love and passion for street football in the diverse communities of Leeds between 2006 and 2021.
Ricky: “In 2020, I started going through the thousands of photos I had taken in Leeds over the last 16+ years. I began to notice and separate all of the football-related images.
"And there it was, hiding in plain sight. No politics, no offside rule, just the pure simplicity and joy of a football being kicked up and down back streets all over the city. Football is everywhere, interwoven into the very fabric of society. Occupying spaces around us where you least expect it.”
New: In The Terraces.
Some of the best games happen when it’s only you & your mates. No rippling nets but the ball bouncing off the top corner of goals etched onto a wall. It was definitely in.
