Ricky Lee Vegas

Playin' acoustic, bluegrass, country, folk and Americana. Livin' it up in the Essex wastelands, y'all.

Recent comment on this one "please don't sing". I mean, I see their point, but if you've nothing nice to say, say nothing.

Well folks, apart from slowly dying, there ain't a whole lot going on in my life, so I guess that's what I'll be writing about. So here a present Death Rattle Blues to brighten your day.

Thanks to everyone who's played this track, much appreciated. I got another on the go, also about the joys of dying, chemo kicking my arse this week, but hopefully back on it soon.

Well folks, the chemo and cancer have been kicking my arse lately, but I've managed to get some playing in, and here's one last song for my beautiful lady.
Thank you to everyone who's listened over the last few years. 🙏

Ill health is still stoppin' me from pickin' up that guitar, so here's another oldie. A very special song about a very special lady.

@markypoos1 Thanks for the RT @acousticfisher

Due to a recent bout of I'll health I've not had the energy or inspiration to pick up my guitar for a few months, so I figured I'd share a few of the 50 original songs I've done over the last 4 years. Thanks for listening

Today marks 4 years of continuous sobriety for me. Definitely one of my better decisions. This is a song I wrote not long after I stopped drinking.

50 original songs in 4yrs of playin' is pretty good I reckon. Now to become more than mediocre!

Blood, Sweat and Tears is about what we all put in to playing our guitars.

My 50th original song in the 4 years since I started trying to play acoustic guitar.
Thanks to everyone for their support. 🙏

Actually, that was me ya fool!

[Rik Spanner @RikSpanner]

About 4 years ago I started teaching myself to play guitar properly, rather than the 2 fingered power chords I'd been relying on in my punk band. I just recorded my 50th original song since I started that.
Could I have done that drunk? I don't reckon.

Tried emulating an AC/DC rhythm and ended up with this bit of folkyness.
Work in progress!
