My dad handed me two clothespins. “This,” he said, “is the story of everything.”
In one hand: a clothespin from the 1960s. Solid hardwood, smooth from decades of use. It still works perfectly, some 60 years later.
In the other: a clothespin from 2025. Lighter, paler wood, brittle. The spring is thin and unstable. Marketed as “extra durable,” my dad just raised an eyebrow.
At first glance, it’s just two clothespins. But they tell a bigger story — the shift from durability to disposability, from craftsmanship to cost-cutting, from stewardship to constant consumption. This is planned obsolescence in action.
Products are designed to fail so we must keep buying. Slowly, subtly, they break. Frayed wires, cracked hinges, brittle springs. Not because we want more, but because the old was never built to last.
The costs are everywhere. Landfills overflow. Wallets empty. And maybe most quietly, our spirits grow accustomed to impermanence, to the idea that nothing is meant to endure.
What if this philosophy extends beyond objects? What if it shapes how we treat relationships, communities, homes, even the Earth — as temporary, replaceable, disposable?
It doesn’t have to be this way. That 1960s clothespin reminds us another path is possible. That we once made things to last, and we can again. That quality, care, and intention matter. That we can design for repair, for continuity, for meaning.
The story in my palm is about more than laundry. It’s about the choices we make and the world they create.
“WE WILL NOT ALLOW IRAN TO HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON”
The ‘All Bark, No Bite’ handling of Iran’s nuclear program the last 20 years failed.
Some people are just all talk.

SOME THOUGHTS FROM ME
Israel may have lost the PR war, but on the ground it destroyed the ring of fire that once surrounded it.
1. Lebanon: Israel crushed Hezbollah, paged and eliminated thousands of fighters, and took out Nasrallah along with his entire senior command.
2. Iran: Israel neutralized Iran’s nuclear threat, wiped out its ballistic missile program, and eliminated its top scientists and generals. Sanctions were reinstated, leaving Iran weakened and exposed.
3. Syria: The Iranian-backed Assad regime collapsed, ending Tehran’s land bridge to the Mediterranean.
4. Yemen: The Houthis were shattered, their long-range capabilities crippled.
5. Iraq: Iran’s militias have gone silent. Not a single attack in over a year.
6. Judea and Samaria: Palestinian terror networks were broken, their leadership dismantled, and control restored.
7. Gaza: Hamas lost its entire command structure. Sinwar, Haniyeh, and Deif are gone. The group agreed to disarm, give up control, and begin deradicalizing Gaza.
Let the world chase headlines and PR. Israel changed the map. It erased the existential threat, shattered Iran’s reach, and rose as the new superpower of the Middle East.
The vast majority of the “far right” who are “on the march” across Europe are ordinary people who had no problem with managed immigration, are not racist, respect the rights of people in other countries, indeed would hope for them that they retain their own culture and distinct identity. Across Europe we have now had over two decades of governments who never had a mandate for the extreme mass immigration policies they have inflicted on our nations, they were never revealed, there was no choice, all parties pursued the same globalist agenda despite their pre election pledges.
We’ve been force fed the crippling consequences of the “climate change” lunacy and corruption, brutalised by Covid lockdowns and medicalised tyranny, taunted by our governments showering money like confetti on vanity projects which have no benefit to us whatsoever, whilst providing third world level public services and investment in infrastructure, health services, schools, housing and education. We’ve witnessed the managed decline and wilful destruction, and been shamed into pretending it isn’t happening.
Now people are finally kicking back, the media continues to demonise anyone who doesn’t continue to worship at the altar of globalism, but all the labels hurled at us have lost all meaning, we simply won’t be shamed, bullied or intimidated into silence any more. For everyone in the vanguard who were brave enough to take the brickbats for many years for pointing out the inevitable consequences, you are now being vindicated. There is no going back, our governments, captured media, liberal intelligentsia, the pathetic gaggle of talking heads and so-called celebrities, will continue to raise their vain crescendo of hatred towards this perfectly logical rejection of the social, cultural, financial and institutional destruction of our nations. But sadly for them, the game is up.
Do you remember the old London? 🏴
Is was a little bit rough around the edges, but it had charm, character and a sense of being English.
I'm glad I knew it.
