A careless driver ran a red light, crossed three lanes of traffic, and ran me over. I will undergo surgery number 11 on Monday, June 22, 2026, and surgery number 12 on Friday; both are extensive. At 0934 this morning, it’s been 1 year since the motorcycle wreck. I still can’t walk and have to use a wheelchair to get around. 22Jun2026 I have surgery (part1) to remove the internal rod, cement spacer and set the base for the bone transport where they will have to cut the femur in to, insert, rods and plates and replace the knee and take cultures. Then on Friday they will install all the hardware inside the leg.(part 2) its a 4-6hour procedure. After this surgery, if I’m lucky, only 4 more surgeries. (Possibly more. Doc said they’d be minor surgeries.)
My spirits are high! My temper flares when I pinch my hand between doorframes and the wheelchair! 😂 I’m ready to be done with all of it. Possibly one year for rehab and a full recovery !
