@lmkifiwin There's a lot that the movie gets right, but the main point is that it is a fun movie to see in a theater with an audience, and not at home or watching alone through a phone. That's the appeal with horror movies and that's why, if the story is good, people will to out to watch
@sfsstudios1@mjarbo When Johnston acts highly stressed out, its voice starts to break as it goes higher, to me, in similar ways like MJF. And the guy can play a likable lead, when his character should not be that likable. As someone else said, it's like Tom from "500 days of summer" goes splatter
@TheCinesthetic They're compelling stories, well acted, well crafted and designed, made good decisions on the production design and ran with it, did not make a bland product trying to cater to everyone but getting no one. And both very fun to watch with an audience.
@mjarbo@sfsstudios1 But the movie works because of its leads. The male lead is channeling the good will of a Ton Holland or a Michael J Fox back in the day. But the main factor is Navarrette. She nails it, and makes the movie work.
@Dreythebeast@DiscussingFilm And are great for a good old fashioned double feature. Watched Backrooms first, Obsession second, and left the movieplex with a stupid grin. Highly recommend it.
@BenjiNaesen Although the winner was predestined, I can't think of a truly boring Giro stage this year. Each stage had its story, drama, and protagonists. And there are a lot of stories and protagonists this year, aside from Vingegaard. I wouldn't say the best, but 1 of the most entertaining
O exemplo clássico é a F1.
@BHRVictorious@CarusoDamiano@giroditalia This is one of the great stories of the Giro 2026. Not only the individual side of the achievements, but the teamwork and the close and special relationship between the 2. Older rider, close to retirement mentoring a younger one through a tough race. And both ending in the Top 10
