Happy New Year all. 2023 a good year with some good trips Lesvos, Madeira, Shetland and Scillies. Some great birds along the way by my undoubted highlight was finding a Baird’s Sandpiper on my local patch, Hoylake/Meols…..didn’t realise at the time it was a first for Wirral

What was once the entrance to a lively general store. By 1920, this town had 4 general stores, a bank, 2 barber shops, a railroad depot, a boarding house, pharmacy & a motorcycle dealer. By 1939, the general stores, bank, and barber shops shuttered - eventfully all went silent.
