I visited the Jaway Wharf community with the Board Members of Ghana Maritime Authority to gain first-hand insight into current marine transport activities.

As a border town, most movement in the area is done by boats. We engaged community members on the importance of safety in their daily operations. We also held discussions with the Ghana Navy and Ghana Immigration Service, who shared some of the challenges they face.

With a Ghana Maritime Authority office set to be established soon, the safety needs of the community will be better addressed through the provision of logistics and public education to ensure smooth and secure operations.
