@Angela_Watson I have accommodations from my district. I had to disclose my diagnoses to HR in order to qualify and then there was a negotiation process between me, HR, and my principal. I got about half of what I asked for, but they’ve been critical to my continued success.

@111111prayer1 @MikeStucka @revjorobertson I’d also estimate about 25% of our students are choosing to wear masks this year. I find masked students just as capable of developmentally appropriate social interaction with peers and adults as unmasked students.

@111111prayer1 @MikeStucka @revjorobertson Teacher here. You are right kids must experience nonverbal AND verbal social cues to develop appropriately. Masks don’t obstruct verbal communication for a majority of people. Nonverbal communication still happens with the eyebrows, eyes, cheeks, torso, and hands playing roles.

@MrNunesteach Part of it seems to be I’m not well trained in adult learning theory, formal instructional design for adults, or in presentation delivery. Learning more about these topics are something I want to include in my PDP this year.

@MrNunesteach I went to a county-hosted PD this summer that was the best I’d been to in years. Since I’m in charge of PD for my site, I reflected on why this was whereas most of my site-based PD falls flat.
