A-factual reactions to Watson v. RNC:
1. "Watson would have fixed Cali slowness." Wrong. Less than 3% of Cali mail ballots arrive after Election Day.
2. "Now they can count ballots after Election Day." Wrong. Watson wasn't about election officials counting ballots after Election Day. It was about receiving ballots after Election Day.
3. "The Supreme Court told the federal government it can't interfere with state rules." Wrong. The Court didn't say that Congress can't impose a stricter deadline. It just said that current federal law doesn't do that.
4. "The SAVE America Act is now necessary." Wrong. The SAVE America Act, as it was passed in the House, had nothing to do with mail ballot receipt deadline.
5. "This opens the flood gates to fraud." Wrong. This preservers the status quo. And there is zero evidence to suggest that a mail ballot that arrives one day after Election Day is more likely to be fraudulent than a mail ballot that arrives on Election Day.
6. "None of this matters because USPS has said it won't return invalid mail ballots." Wrong. Even if Trump's second election executive order is upheld (doubtful), and even if the USPS proposed rulemaking moves forward, neither authorizes the USPS to withhold ballots based on return date.
This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court issued their opinion in Watson v. RNC. @RightCount state leaders offered the following response in this victory for federalism and resounding reaffirmation of states' constitutional authority over elections.

“‘These voters are role models for the rest of us,’ Commonwealth Secretary Al Schmidt said.” Without question, the best part of my job is traveling across Pennsylvania to acknowledge voters who have voted in *every* election in the past 50 years. https://t.co/VfH6lSxuTJ
RightCount advisors and fmr Reps. @RepLouBarletta and @MattSalmonAZ: "the fact that California counts slowly does not mean votes are being stolen ... anyone making those claims should be held to the evidence, and the evidence isn't there." @DailyCaller https://t.co/ooeaoiuS2m
This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is a reminder that the freedoms we cherish must never be taken for granted. A strong republic depends on those freedoms and on the civic foundations they defended.
“There were no significant disruptions to polling sites. Secretary Schmidt said Tuesday’s smooth voting process is thanks to at least 45,000 poll workers. ‘Because of them, Pennsylvania held a free, fair, and safe election yet again.’” https://t.co/WGFXM2ZDSt
The Auditor General of Pennsylvania recently audited 210,905 voter registration forms.
He found 1 non-citizen in that batch. That non-citizen never voted. And was later removed from the voter rolls.
