The news here is Kevin Warren called Illinois lawmakers first to tell them the bears were releasing a completely noncommittal statement about Hammond and that discussions will continue. Almost like they have zero desire to move to Indiana!
If you say you’re going to jump off a bridge for the 30th time unless I stop you, eventually I’ll just think you want to jump off the bridge and I should let you.
While I’m being told that the Bears announcement on Hammond is “real”,
i.e. not a leverage play, a league source told me that the Bears leaving the state is not a done deal. Per source, Indiana is in the lead right now, but “Illinois can still get back in the race,” granted the state has a lot of ground to make up after not passing legislation that would have insured the Bears property tax certainty.
The #Bears are expected to announce today their board of directors have voted and they will be focused on Hammond moving forward as the future site of their stadium, two legislative sources said. @thescorechicago@mullyhaugh
I find myself nodding at the end of games now, believing more and more that the cubs broke their curse in 2016 and underneath that was another layer of curse where the offense throws a wheel for 2 months a year in perpetuity
Insane return for a player on the downside without much competition for his services. We're going to look back at the Patriots 2025 superbowl appearance as one of the WTF happenings of the past decade.
🚨🚨🚨
ESPN sources: The Eagles are trading Pro-Bowl WR A.J. Brown to the Patriots for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick that is the better of New England’s two fifths. The deal that has been speculated on for weeks now finally is happening. Brown and Patriots HC Mike Vrabel are reuniting.
🚨🚨🚨
Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per @rapsheet, @TomPelissero and me.
In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns.
@_Fuzzgun@BrettKollmann Agree on the PT but he’s not going to see the ball very often I don’t think. 4 targets feels generous.
As for jahdae - who I adore - he feels like depth more than a guy who will get regular run. Zavion is the Khalif Raymond in training in all four phases.
@_Fuzzgun@BrettKollmann Good catch. Had it written down but didn’t transcribe it to the post. 4 targets for Kmet brings the play/target total to 32 as intended.
@C2_Cooper i don't want to be argumentative about it but to me it's not just about flopping. It's all the elements of foul-grifting that seems to have crossed a rubicon where scoring the basketball doesn't always seem to be the goal in live play. It stinks to watch. Should nothing be done?
It's the offseason, everyone's looking for something to stir up banter, I get all of that.
The Bears trading Tyson Bagent for a year of Anthony Richardson is among the more braindead ideas I've ever heard a professional writer make.

Jordan Wicks - multiple times now - has put it all together, found a groove in the minors, pushed and strained and gotten the call to the show....
And immediately been shelled within an inch of his life the second he takes the mound in the majors. He's not an option.
I'll give the Bears no credit for a draft that has to be a happy accident, but it's worth saying there aren't really non-premium positions anymore if safeties, centers and tight ends are 25m a year players.
Man the Cubs are gross right now. Just gross.
You'd think the approach during times like these would be to shorten up, let the ball travel and shoot it the other way. I get that it's easy to say and impossibly hard to do but the controllables don't feel very controlled rn.
