@Mathematizeme @heymrsbond I went once and a child ran across the parlor and buried her head in my stomach and sobbed. I had never met her before or seen her since. But she recognized me from school. I was not ready to play that role in my own grief and it still shakes me. It’s ok to mitigate. Necessary.
@heymrsbond @raybirdhill It’s wise to take care—they will need you *after* in other grueling ways. My 1st I was shocked to realize the kids will look to you during the wake and funeral, too—some there alone, never having attended one before, or never for a peer. It’s a lot to “teach” them—too much.
@sethmeyers Loved the early show tonight at The Egg. After hosting family Thanksgiving, this was a great date night out AND an early night in…home in time for turkey soup with faces aching from laughing. The best.

@GaryGulman My dad went on a training kick when he saw Rocky, including the raw egg morning slurp. My brother asked what it tasted like. Dad said “‘bout like you’d expect. Like the ass-end of a chicken.” Questions both put to rest and raised in a single sentence. 🤣
@GaryGulman https://t.co/AIyT8YR50Q NoHo performance was my long awaited (2/22) bday present, and it was THE BEST! And yes, I’m an English teacher, who had to text all my English teacher and/or librarian friends about the show otw home to Albany! Thank you!
