It’s PHYSICS (and my patent “games” the physics to create the Reality that LESS IMPACT FORCE = FASTER Up Incline with the PowerVest.
The patent describes a “Delay Component” which is key to creating the Mechanism of Operation.
The Theory of Operation is:
The Delay Component dampens landing and then powers launch.
Anecdotal reality: EVERY person who has run up stairs / incline clocks faster WITH the PowerVest on AND experiences less fatigue wearing the PowerVest than nothing.
@mboyle1959 would you like me to stop lashing you with the olive branch?
Either way I am changing tack. And I’m taking the heat off you - missed opportunity, huge mistake to say nothing and pretend you’re correct on core stability - while the oposite is in fact true.
So now I’m shifting gears - gonna forget about you Mike - I’m done trying to help you.
And it’s milk and honey going forward because I already won the contest of ideas.
The honest and unafraid are all coming over to my side. Which means that the dishonest and terrified will be joining us too.
You can’t beat physics, but you can game it to become a better athlete. That’s because everyone wins with Weck.
Honesty is a powerful tool.
Let’s remove all emotion. And just focus on the ideas. The facts.
Does anyone still believe this to be true?
The answer is Yes. The majority in fact. There is a long tail when you’re talking about 18 years of education.
This is the most important information - Core / Spine Function for Gait - that the industry must know and teach.
How could it not be? Walking is the function that bridges all the other functions. You’ll take many millions of steps… a lot of reps.
The industry says “don’t build strength on dysfunction.” And I agree.
Then why is it the norm to prescribe and program athletes with any exercise that conflicts with efficient gait mechanics?
It’s the norm because peer review exercise science taught them this. No other reason.
If anyone disagrees with me, and insists that Core Muscles are designed to stop motion, and the spine should be stiff to transmit the force from the hips and shoulders, please speak.
I’m asking @mboyle1959 and @drstuartmcgill to please speak on this subject.
As the world’s foremost advocates of spinal stiffness, the thousands and thousands of trainers who’ve learned from Stu & Mike deserve to hear them speak on it.
The millions of clients & athletes deserve balance.
Fosbury’s high jump technique was ridiculed and rejected. 8 years it took to become recognized as obviously best.
The question is why 8 years?
I believe we have a similar situation here — but with locomotion (applies to everyone). Those who direct the narrative will tend to resist a new paradigm.
I think it is this simple. Because there really isn’t another logical explanation.
I say the Spine Drives Locomotion (and swinging, throwing…). I say the spine must “bend” to perform these functions efficiently (faster for example).
They say the Spine does not generate power and should be stiffened to locomote. There is nothing for me to say but this is simply not true.
And FYI, I’ve been saying the same thing for decades.
Stu & Mike owe it to the industry to share their perspective. They instructed stiffness and it’s time to decide if that’s wrong or right.
One of us is correct.
And no one can argue that I’m not CoreWeck.

@TheDavidWeck Thanks brother! I find myself regularly explaining head over foot to runners who worry they have “bad form.” Thank you for spotting the truth! ATG + HOF is a fiery combination! Record track year here! Most school records broken in a single season, BY A LOT.
King Dac was on the ground the same amount of time WITH & without the PowerVest - 15 lbs and SAME TIME on ground.
P = F/t x D.
Training More Force with load in the Same Time on the ground = Less time on the ground without the load.
Training effect to
The Patented Plyometric PowerVest - it’s InstaFast.

Here’s the 3 pages from Gracovetsky’s book The Spinal Engine you NEED to understand.
Failure to understand THIS leads to confusion and counterproductive training like the pallof press. — exactly what happened in the dark ages of “anti-core” core stability training. The mean times.
You’re welcome.
It is beyond Critical the fitness industry is informed correctly on such a fundamental matter.
