Lil Wayne comes out in full force defending one of President Donald Trump's biggest White House projects.
“When they was mad at him about building the ballroom, and he was like, 'Because everything we do, we have to do it on the damn lawn... People who don't know nothing [are] hearing that thinking he's just being Trump — no, for real, I was glad to hear him saying that,” the rap legend said in a recent podcast appearance.
He praised Trump's plan to build a massive White House ballroom, saying it would finally give performers an indoor venue instead of forcing them outside for major events.
Wayne pointed to his performance at then-Vice President Kamala Harris' 2023 celebration marking the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, which was held outside at the vice president's residence. He said it felt more like a "backyard barbecue" than a White House event, adding he was "glad" to hear Trump pushing for the ballroom project.
Trump has said the new ballroom will host state dinners, performances and other major events.
