Today in 3rd grade, I let my kids listen to a book on YouTube called the Dinosaur that discovered hamburgers for a brain break… one of them said “this is basically Indiana Jones but with burgers” I don’t think so but whatever you say bud 🤣🤣

Today in 3rd grade I had my class get out their math papers. One of my little friends who seems to struggle in other subjects jumped up, ran to get a clipboard to sit closer to me, and shouted “yes math! It’s my time to shine!” Let me tell y’all, my. heart. melted. I love them 🥹

Today in 3rd grade- “Ms. Rilee, my mom and grandma were talking about you yesterday”
“They were talking about me?”
“Yeah I think you were on Facebook or something”
“I was on Facebook? What was I doing on there?”
My principal-“maybe just whisper it, we might not need to know”😂😂

One of my students: “That is a big stack of papers!!”
Me: “yeah I have to grade them.”
Them: “That is why I do not want to be a teacher when I grow up. You have to grade those papers and deal with these kids!”

Just glad they realize it can be a lot 🤣

Today in 3rd grade I let my kids write about their weekend and share with the class, one of them wrote “I went to a roping and saw Ms.Rilee’s boyfriend” another said “what you have a boyfriend?” And then a third one said “of course she does she wants to start a family one day” 🙃

3rd grader:“Ms.Rilee has Cameron asked you to marry him yet?”
Me: “no girl not yet”
3rd grader: “YET, Ms.Rilee just not YET”

But what I wanted to say was “yes I remember and the confidence your dad must have is truly out of this world” 😂

Me: I know I waved at you!
Girl: oh yeah, my dad said you were probably waving at him because you think he’s cute!
