Grew up playing travel ball. This was a common.
It's not about punishing players.
It's about commitment, taking it seriously, & learning how to respond to something.
If it's all pool time, pizza, & ice cream after losing, what's the point?
12U travel baseball. Team goes 0-2 Saturday in pool play. Upset about the results, the Head coach tells parents and players; “players aren’t allowed to swim at the hotel pool tonight.” Thoughts?
Alright, I get the hydration break in the World Cup. But why aren't we stopping the clock?
It's essentially becoming an 80-minute game.
Stop the clock on hydration breaks & injuries. It's that simple.
My biggest question about this entire Brendan Sorsby saga:
Why is Texas Tech (and largely Cody Campbell) fighting so hard? He's never played a down for them. He has absolutely no loyalty or allegiance to them.
Why put this gigantic stain on your program?
As the Brendan Sorsby news settles, here's your reminder that Iowa saw the NCAA suspend starting DT Noah Shannon for a full year for a bet on an entirely different sport.
The precedent was already set. Makes no sense to bend the rules for this case.
Brendan Sorsby bet on his own team while rostered.
The NCAA set a precedent here with the Iowa Hawkeyes:
A player bet on a different sport, was suspended a year, & ended his career.
Why would Sorby's case, a worse infraction, be different?

@ScottDochterman Regional emphasis is a big key of mine. We need more of that. Bring it back.
As for the G6, I'd be all in. Do you forego conference titles in that case? Week 12 or 13 is a TBD matchup of the best MWC, American, etc?
The NCAA opened Pandora's box here.
You mean to tell me players fell victim to gambling when every other commercial is Draft Kings? Or every other segment on College GameDay is a FanDuel spread or player prop?
This is likely more rampant than anyone cares to acknowledge.
The hero of Alabama State's first NCAA tourney win and three of his teammates on the 2024-25 team were ruled permanently ineligible for accepting payment from gamblers to fix the outcome of a game that season, the NCAA announced Friday.
According to the NCAA, the four players were offered a total of $2,000 to throw the game. https://t.co/eXQQIa1e9h
Breaking: The Bears’ Board of Directors voted Thursday to advance the stadium development in Hammond, Indiana.
“There is more work to do, but barring anything very strange, it’s a done deal,” one source told @AdamSchefter.
@HarryStewartMo1 I'm on board with you about odd kickoff times & spacing, it needs centralized. Even some of the kickoff times for me are late (east coast US).
But, I think kickoff times & sleeping habits go out the window for certain things. They know the games are watched regardless.
Americans have been watching international sports, such as the World Cup & Olympics, at all hours of the day for years.
The World Cup caters to the... world. Not one region.
