Spot on!
It’s not the average firefighter’s or policeman’s efforts that are being questioned and put under the microscope. It’s the political leadership—and the lack or absence of political will—that is being criticized.
How many such disastrous incidents have to happen before meaningful changes are brought about?
The whole system has failed to ensure the average citizen’s well-being, safety, and protection. That is what everyone is talking about today—whether one agrees or not. It’s all about the fast-deteriorating quality of life in this congested and overpopulated capital city of the nation.
Thank you, once again.
In every presidency, Airport FRS has been the one responding to major fires across the Greater Malé area. This is not something to be proud of it clearly reflects systemic negligence at the highest level.
Relying on airport fire rescue resources for urban emergencies highlights a serious gap in national preparedness. An international airport operates under strict SOPs that require a dedicated number of fire and rescue vehicles to be available at all times for aviation incidents. Diverting those resources elsewhere not only stretches their capacity but also risks compromising airport safety itself.
This situation underscores a long-standing failure to properly equip and strengthen the national fire and emergency response framework. A city as dense and high-risk as Malé requires its own fully capable, well-trained, and well-equipped firefighting force not one that depends on backup from the airport during critical situations.
At its core, this is not about praising response efforts, but about questioning why such reliance continues to exist in the first place.
@Midhuamsaud@Pohthu@looth_shahid Incorrect. Pressure stayed like that until the MACL truck arrived. My neighbors were talking about it. That’s exactly why I took the video. Been here since it started, & I’m still here. We need to address these issues instead of turning a blind eye & glorifying the situation.
@Pohthu@Midhuamsaud@looth_shahid As someone living in front of the godown, I can confirm that @Pohthu is correct & @Midhuamsaud is lying. The 1st video was taken at 9:45, the 2nd at 10:45. It took about an hour for the MACL fire truck to arrive; until then, they were using the hose seen in the 1st video
Dear Gen Z,
This is how a serial murderer (Ismail Abdul Raheem Adam, M. Lagoonview, Male) secured a high paying job (45,000–50,000 MVR) at HDC.
This is someone who killed at least two, who is now moving freely among you, in public spaces, in your neighbourhoods, in daily life.
@dunyamaumoon@ZohranKMamdani It wasn’t alarming or troubling to you when journalist Ahmed Rilwan was abducted in your own country while you were foreign minister. You stood by and supported the very government implicated in his abduction. #FindMoyameehaa
🚨ALARMING: The High Court has overturned the life sentences for Yameen Rasheed’s killers.
Ordering a retrial & potentially freeing the accused individuals sends a chilling message: that lives of journos are expendable and justice is negotiable.
We demand that the state take immediate measures to prevent the accused from walking free & to finally secure a definitive, just verdict. The culture of impunity must stop now.
‼️@hdcmaldives Head of Security and ISIS member Rauf has been sanctioned and blacklisted by US 🇺🇸 Office of Foreign Assets Control.
His name is now added to Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list ("SDN List").

“Umar no need 2b overwhelmed by #AdeebFiles.”
You had the chance to act. You were the Home Minister when Rilwan was abducted and when this corruption unfolded.
@UmarNaseerMV
The corrupt leaders, the criminals, the thieves, the murderers still walk free. Without justice, the wounds of this nation will remain open. The nation can only begin to heal once justice is served. #FindMoyameehaa#JusticeForYaamyn#AdeebFiles
Prosecutor General Abbas Shareef is listed in the #AdeebFiles multiple times asking to meet urgently. This was when he was a High Court Judge.
Deputy Prosecutor General Aishath Mohamed led the MMPRC prosecution. She sat on this forensic report and overlooked serious crimes that could have led to multiple prosecutions.
