1. Think of why we watch football for instance - 22 players on the pitch but the majority focus is always on the ball, of course there are times when half the players are not visible even, but it does not change how you would look at the game.

2A. Battlefield makes for large scale warfare. 32v32 with planes, tanks, Attack helicopters make it extremely difficult to capture everything condensed into 1 view for a viewer to understand

2B. Compare this with the 5v5 shooters we’ve seen take off on the e-sports front like Rainbow Six & CS:GO. There are far fewer points of distraction here, easier to take in from a viewer's standpoint.

1. Publishers/devs play a huge part when it comes to how exactly should the esport scene run itself

2. Generally there are two approaches to this:

A. Open system: Hands-off approach, where publishers/game devs basically let the the public dictate how things are run. Think Valve - Dota/CS:GO

B. Closed system: Cedes all power to the publisher/devs. Controlling every bit of the competitive scene as to “Who can host tourneys, who’s able to compete in them, etc”

3. Open loop systems allow for the community to foster a much greater sense of e-sport competition within themselves.
