Wishing for a fairer, more equal society & contentment 😌 for all. Like food, music, vintage tat, relaxing, books, ideas, catch-up TV & the odd spot of exercise
Have you read Race&Gender Inequity paper @bmj_latest ?

It's time to #SpeakOut
£37 billion on test and trace =
11 times total public health budget for the UK (£3.3 billion)
66% total staff salaries for NHS (£56bn)
3.7 times our aid budget
A billion more than entire secondary education budget
2.5 times govt spend on family and children's welfare (15bn)
"On 3 February, NHST&T said it was still employing around 2,500 consultants..the Dept estimated around 900 contractors from Deloitte alone were on their books with the average cost per consultant about £1,100 a day, up to a maximum of £6,624 for some consultancy staff."
"By the end of 2020, NHST&T had signed 614 contracts worth £8.3 billion. 70% of the contract value were assigned as direct awards without competition under emergency measures."
The majority of media and journalists have been absolutely appalling during this crisis.
There is no doubt that a distinct lack of scrutiny and challenge has contributed to the disastrous outcomes we are all enduring.
It really is time for change - please RT if you agree.
The government failed to buy any gowns, visors, swabs or body bags for the UK's pandemic stockpile - *despite* experts warning them to do so last year.
And *still* not one member of govt has had the decency or humanity to apologise for frontline deaths.

For Boris Johnson to say his use of “picaninnies with watermelon smiles” was “wrenched out of context” is to imply there’s a context in which racist slurs are ok. There isn’t. You can tell a lot about someone by their choice of language. His words are vile
Only 4 British Sign Language interpreters in the UK are specialists in Grime. Tara Asher signed Stormzy’s Glasto set for deaf festival goers.
She rehearsed each song for a day. This is joyous. She LOVES her job. Have a watch please.

We can still stop Brexit. If the British people reject it in a #PeoplesVote, we can revoke Article 50. Parliament is still sovereign and our EU partners have been clear. We do not have to do this.
‘Downing Street insisted there will not be a referendum in any circumstances’ (BBC) Any, even if Parliament votes for one?
This is becoming a struggle for parliamentary democracy & the rights of MPs against a dictatorial government
The will of the people right now is to Remain on the basis of this poll, in line with other surveys. You don’t hear Farage, Johnson and Rees-Mogg talking about that. Pls RT to help spread the word #PeoplesVote
If prevention is better than cure, why have you literally just slashed Public Health England funding (responsible for prevention) by 12% in the Budget?
One day the truth will come out.The sources, connections & motives behind the money which generated the lies & bots that led the British ppl to the biggest mistake we’ve ever made. On that day your child will ask “What did you do to stop it?” Hold your head high @peoplesvote_uk
The number of cancelled children’s ops has risen by 58% since 2011.
Can only imagine the distress & fear behind this appalling statistic.
From the govt that’s cut 15k beds since 2010, & left our NHS short of 42k nurses & 10k doctors 😔

Good grief BBC have reported that the Royal visit to Tonga is important for trade after Brexit. So we will ignore 27 EU countries for trade with the tiny island of Tonga. Has the U.K. lost its collective mind.
@What_Ricky_Said For a Brexit voter to have fought in World War II they'd need to have been 89+ in 2016. I'd say that would be a very small minority.
Unless your argument is that if you've lived through hard times as a child, you have the right to inflict hard times on future generations.
