When will governments learn that policy is bound to fail again and again if it’s done without meaning partnership with Aboriginal community controlled orgs. #ntpol
"Our view on the new rent system is that it's not going to work again — it's been designed without the adequate input of Aboriginal organisations," Mr Kelly said from @_ALRAR_#auslaw#ntpol@Samjonscher

A huge win for the communities who have been leading this fight, and a lesson in why Govt should always consult with First Nations communities on things that affect the. It’s time to go back to the table for the rental framework. @_ALRAR_#ntpol

I keep typing and deleting tweets, typing and deleting letters. There is honestly nothing else left to say that has not been said before. No statistic or argument or video to change your minds, to put an end to this devastation and horror.
Your Palestinian friends are not OK.
Today @Senator_Patrick is arguing his AAT case against the Govt's attempt to use 'national cabinet' as an FOI exemption & hide information from the public about the Covid response. This case is important & goes to the heart of our democratic #RightToKnow. https://t.co/CcRL4A3xvG
Ibrahim (11 years) and Marwan (7 years), who were killed on Monday’s raid, were Masri’s only children. | "They were playing," says father whose two children killed by 'Israel' in Gaza" #GazaUnderAttack#Courage2FightApartheid https://t.co/tmOR7RaPDa
1500 Palestinians face expulsion in #Jerusalem. 200 protesters have been injured. 9 children have been killed. Sanctions on South Africa helped free its black people - it’s time for sanctions on Israel to free Palestinians. Join the call. #SheikhJarrah https://t.co/f9R6LYljez
"I look at childcare as not just a policy for women, because last time I looked, men also had kids."
CEDA Board Director @mingYlong spoke to @abcnews' The Business about tomorrow night's #Budget2021.
When I spoke to him on my pod last week, @Birmo said the budget wasn't entirely bereft of savings measures. We went looking, and here's the biggest one. Migrants forced to wait four years for benefits https://t.co/OAw8ki7vI1 @Paul_Karp#auspol
Most of the issues in tonight’s budget will have been spotlighted by @4corners , @abc730 or other ABC programs.
Aged Care, Mental Health, NDIS to name a few.
Meanwhile ABC gets action on Ghost Train Fire.
Meanwhile the LNP wants to cut ABC funding.
Thank you ABC.
The NT Attorney General is correctly identifying the root causes of youth crime - disability, domestic violence, lack of housing, trauma - so why pass legislation that doesn't address these things but instead pushes children into prison?! #ntpol
Despite extra funding for domestic violence, the welfare sector is facing cuts, with $19.5 less for The Department of Social Services. Services Australia will also lose $286 million and 800 staff members. Funding for affordable housing will also be cut by $12.2 million.
The NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission has its funding and staffing levels slashed by $8 million 8 staffers, despite the watchdog being unable to respond, and often dismissing, tens of thousands of allegations of abuse, neglect and illegal practises last year
The Office for Women which is supposed to be consulted on how policies will impact women had its funding slashed by $7.1 million. This is pretty crazy given how much emphasis Morrison put on the new roles for women during the cabinet reshuffle. #Budget21
Today is #RCIADIC30Years. Since then 474 families & communities have been devasted by deaths in custody.
Too many hearts have been broken.
The solutions are clear & govts must implement them now, 30 years is already too late. #StopBlackDeathsinCustody

Honestly, the fact that judges and politicians up until now have been exempt from the Sexual Discrimination Act makes the 'rule of law' argument even more hollow.
This is a good step, but another indictment on the way power operates in our country.

Four deaths in a little over two weeks. These aren't just numbers to us: these are our Elders, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and children.
We must see justice for our people.
