To everyone in Mexico City who made England supporters feel so welcome over the last few days, thank you. What an incredible city you have, and even better people.
For those who travelled from England, this will be remembered as one of the favourite away trips. Thank you to everyone who organised, hosted and welcomed us with such warmth and respect.
From the Chihuahuas at our Fans’ Embassy to the Lucha Libre, to the bars and the restaurants, the incredible stadium atmosphere and the respect shown after the final whistle, it’s been a trip we’ll never forget.
Now it’s on to Miami (via anywhere and everywhere in between), but we hope our paths cross again soon. 🏴🤝🇲🇽

🚨Frank Lampard on Mexico after England’s victory:
🗣️ Reporter:
“England are through, but what did you make of Mexico?”
🗣️ Frank Lampard:
“I thought Mexico were outstanding.
People will only remember that England qualified, but anyone who watched that game knows Mexico made England work for every single minute.
They never stopped believing.
Every time England looked like they were taking control, Mexico found another way back into the match. They pressed with intensity, played with courage and showed exactly why football is so unpredictable.
I actually feel for them because they leave this tournament without anything to be ashamed of.
Julián Quiñones was excellent.
Raúl Jiménez led the line brilliantly.
Edson Álvarez fought in midfield until the very end.
And the supporters… they created an unbelievable atmosphere from the first minute to the last.
England were simply more clinical in the decisive moments.
But Mexico leave with the respect of the football world.
Sometimes a team gets eliminated…
Yet earns more admiration than teams that go through.
I think that’s exactly what Mexico have done.
Caught myself thinking about the game a few times today.
I think it might become a proper core football memory in time.
The context of it all. Going to the Azteca and Mexico’s record there, coming up against a feverish host nation, all the altitude chat, our displays going into it.
And then there was the storm delay and the timing of it being in the middle of the night. It all made it more magical.
And then there was the way the actual game played out. Bellingham’s brilliance. Holding on ‘til half time.
Then the character of that second half.. Tuchel’s wall.
Can probably count on one hand the amount of times I’ve felt like I’ve watched an England side leave it all out there. And I’ve certainly never been so behind the general concept of Dan Burn.
It was just a round of 16 game that England were favourites for, but I really think it’ll go down as an all timer.
Lived it, loved it.
