@passportsevamea @MEABharat I applied for passport in May 25; it was put on hold due to inadequate address proof. I could not take an appointment within 90 days and assumed that my application would have expired. I again applied for passport in Tatkal category with address proof as the address in my husband’s passport. However, this time I was told that since my previous application is still open, I will have to first get it closed and then only the new application can be processed. I got it closed and returned on the appointed date on 5th May. I expected to get priority as I had applied in Tatkal category. However, I was told that since my application was put on hold, I could no longer avail Tatkal associated benefits. My application was treated as ordinary, it would only be issued after physical police verification and it can’t be delivered in two days. I went across to the police station, the inspector came along to my residence and gave a new bombshell. He said that the address in my husband’s passport can’t be used as address proof for police verification. Totally hilarious, so to say! While my husband’s address in his passport was accepted as address proof for processing my application, the inspector said that in Maharashtra it is not acceptable by the CID. I feel it’s a nexus to earn illegal money. While I have already lost 3.5k for no fault of mine, I don’t know how exactly I will finally get a re-issue passport. @rpomumbai
