The focus has always been directed towards whether we're the 4th, 5th, or 6th largest economy in the world.

Our rank in the world for GDP per capita is 149. Some argue that absolute dollars have no meaning and what matters is PPP (Purchasing Power Parity). Even if we adjust for PPP, our rank is still 125th in the world.

However we slice it or dice it, our poverty is very real. What is needed is focus on strong economic growth and not dressing up of data.

Honestly, the latest speech has simply created a needless panic in the market.

If any firm's CEO would have done such dumb moves, he would be fired by his board.

But, here retail investors will pay the price.

There was no need to make all these non-sense suggestions.

- People who want to invest abroad will continue to invest abroad. They see value in it. Grand speeches do nothing.
- People will in fact buy more gold now.
- Yes, maybe they will carpool for a few days. As long as it helps them save their money. Then they will go back to prioritizing convenience.

Government should have simply worked behind closed doors. Figured out ways to offer more incentives for FIIs, ways to bring more remittances etc.

But, they chose to give a speech.

@IndiGo6E Since you charge extra for an infant, even though not an extra seat. The least you can do is atleast give the adults some extra check-in baggage weight concession. Infants also need some luggage.

Manager: How did he resign without a back up job? That's a red flag.

HR: When employees leave without even having a backup job, it is usually a red flag about the company, not the employee.
