Look, it probably goes without saying but you might not have much time *left* to protest this Mayor.
So let’s get out there. 9/19 at 6pm and make McGuinness safe.
Imagine having access to this massive of a system (that is directly subsidized by subway riders I might add) and still feeling entitled to drive into manhattan and pollute and congest free of charge?
Two cursed things in NY politics:
— Burning political capital on bail reform rather than congestion pricing, which is known to *become* popular once it is implemented.
— Doing a huge court fight over redistricting and then not actually gerrymandering!
Last cycle, New York Democrats ran to the right in response to attacks on bail reform, while Illinois Democrats stood strong and defended the end of cash bail.
That's why Illinois single-handedly lost House Dems the majority and experienced an unheard of red-wave.
She could be a legend… like Chris Christie blowing up the gateway tunnel to pave potholes. C’mon: get those matching funds to pave over Washington Square instead
Finish the job. Build the Lower Manhattan Expressway.
this piece says that congestion pricing is the source of matching funds for the Feds commitment of $3.5 billion for the 2nd ave subway.
"It would be illegal for the FTA to provide these funds under a grant until the $4.3 billion local share is real."

Halting congestion pricing isn’t going to be enough to change the minds of imaginary swing voters.
There is only one way The Governor can make this right: finish the Lower Manhattan Expressway
I am calling upon anyone who purchased an MTA municipal bond following the Fitch rating upgrade in March based on new revenue expectations to come forward and bring the law to bear on the State of New York.
As more comes out: Hakeem Jeffries sold out the MTA’s future and Hochul went along with it with no plan in place to address the underlying policy goals and problems congestion pricing was designed to address and which still persist today. What an irresponsible way to govern.
If this holds, it is a generational setback for climate policy in the United States. Worse than the Mountain Valley pipeline. Worse than the Willow oil project in Alaska. Making drivers pay to pollute in city centers is a TIER ONE climate policy issue in America.
.@GovKathyHochul's new and improved plan for NYC subways:
✅ Crumbling infrastructure
✅ Slower trains
✅ Indefinite delays to expanding service
✅ National Guard troops to impress Fox News
I’m in the market for a new gig, please let me know if you have any leads! Preferably at the intersection of mapping, product, data, and engineering. Full time ideally but also open to contracting.
