@GraduatedBen The first paragraph smells like it, but if you get through it the feeling passes. I think it’s maybe lightly edited with tooling. I feel confident calling it foid slop.
@Sai_Isshayya_@perrymetzger Oh the “tone” is offensive! Surely the side being called “tech bros” must respect the “tone” of the specialists, that’s the real disparity here! 🙄
I work in oncology, with genomic data. Getting doctors to embrace new technologies has historically been a lm uphill battle.
@nabeelqu@roryisconfused@hrishio It flags as AI if it’s in a markdown file, regardless of the source being human. I’ve seen it state human on fully tooled engineering documents and human written sci-fi prose as AI. It’s maybe ok for college writing, you guys overextend it and it fails.
@DrCasteelEM Like the hospice point, they know the worst case scenarios intimately, so sometimes they’d rather not go through the adverse events for little gain, or NOT do testing to discover something they don’t want or know they have.
@DrCasteelEM Let’s use the same argument here: if anti cancer drugs work why do a lot of doctors just go into hospice when they have a bad diagnosis? I guess they really *don’t* work at all per this rationale.
OR - they have some alternate rationale which you’re not considering.
@nobody98811605@VigilantFox It’s not very good, they’re teaching remedial math now. One in 8 test below high school. Scores started falling in 2022, haven’t revived, because they play a partisan racist admissions process.
@DrCasteelEM I worked in research at the forefront of genomic profiling. Watched doctors dismiss it as a fad, even in oncology. Five years Iater they were all on board. The “seen it all” mentality is disease.
@jasonryanmd@Mqsley Malpractice is the third leading cause of death. Almost 10% of all American deaths. Yes, fail people in most ways is pretty accurate.
@SorrySSB Think the problem is that conversations go on too long on these things. I don’t know what the sweet spot is, but it has to be something after hi and confirm plans, otherwise it’s just women working themselves out of attraction because lack of effort.
@Scintigraphiste@TelNFT “It still needs device approval” doesn’t sound like an oversell. Midjourney isn’t publicly traded, and we routinely promise more prior to approval in drug trials (I work in biotech)
@romanhelmetguy The haunting chord progression of Radiohead’s Idioteque is sampled from Paul Lansky’s 1973 composition "Mild und Leise", which was created using an IBM mainframe computer. You already consume shit made entirely by machines that spurs emotion.
@romanhelmetguy This has to be one of your weaker arguments.
If the media produces emotion people will want that. If I don’t know the actors / they are unknowns or the actors are generated what’s get difference? Art is art, there’s no special human ingredient needed.
@realOhBeDave@TheProjectUnity You mean other celestial bodies share the same categorical labeling. “These things are called moons so our moon is the same” is a pretty thin argument.
