It is evident that private school teachers are among the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic due to the closure of schools. Despite the resumption of schools, many teachers have been forced to resign or accept lower salaries as a result of the economic impact of the pandemic.

The height of the COVID-19 lockdown saw a decline in the access to basic needs especially among low-income earners and rural dwellers. Many households could not afford needs such as staple foods, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizers and access to treatment.
