A better banking experience starts with a sustainable workweek. With acute staff shortages and mounting stress, 5-day banking is about public service and employee well-being, not a privilege.
UFBU has been pressing since 2015; IBA has already recommended it to the Government (MoU 07-12-2023), and the 12th Bipartite/9th Joint Note (08-03-2024) records the Saturday holiday clause, pending approvals/clearances.
Honour what’s on record. Approve all Saturdays off.

We are proud to share that the Personal Accidental Insurance (PAI) claims of Late Nb Sub Shyam Gurung and Late Rfn Ranjeet Singh Kashyap of 33 Assam Rifles, who made the supreme sacrifice on 19 Sept 2025 in Manipur, have been successfully settled by the State Bank of India as per the MOU with Assam Rifles.
Through close coordination the PAI claim amount of ₹1.10 crore has been credited to the nominees’ accounts on 10 Oct 2025. This timely settlement reaffirms SBI’s steadfast commitment to stand by the families of our martyrs and honour their valour and sacrifice.

Contd..Pls note that MC Road is a prominent road which connect MG Road,the road leading to Hon’ble Governors House.
As an aware citizen, I would request you to reinstall new dumpsters in the area to maintain cleanliness.

diagonally opposite my home (house no. 63) has degenerated into a garbage dump. A recent photograph of the same is enclosed.

There used to be two dumpsters on the spot which have been taken away by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation due to inexplicable reasons.

Such filth has no place in today’s day and age when Swachh Bharat is not merely an Abhiyan, but a way of life.

As an aware citizen, I would request you to kindly reinstall two new dumpsters in the area mentioned above and send periodic GMC trucks to help us, residents,maintain

Kindly note that M.C. Road is an important road which is connected to M.G. Road on one side and leads to Guwahati Club on the other. A garbage dump on this road is not only a cause of great discomfort to the residents, but is also quite embarrassing.
