India ranks 176 out of 177 countries in the 2026 Environment Performance Index - second from the bottom globally, just ahead of Laos.
Score: 22.46/100. Estonia tops the list at 74.79.
Air pollution, coal dependence & weak ecosystem protection cited as key drags. #EPI2026
@sabeer Real question is whether any party has a concrete anti-corruption roadmap beyond slogans - transparent public procurement, faster judicial process for corruption cases, protection for whistleblowers. Rankings won't improve without structural fixes.
@sabeer Maybe not the most corrupt on paper, but the normalization of it where people just shrug and move on - is what's genuinely new and worrying. Things that used to cause outrage is common today
@news24tvchannel Let us admit that out local civic body has failed to do the basic job they are supposed to do before the rainy season and start making them accountable and start questioning their existence
@harrapasabhyata@OfficialGMDA Preparation was better than last year but still we see the results similar too last year. I think it is high time that people should start questioning the accountability of the local civic body because they have failed to provide basic needs
Utter failure of @MCF_Faridabad to provide basic walkable roads even after raising grievances and CPGRAMs. Such an inefficient local civic body. @VipulGoelBJP@KPGBJP
Grievance id - 520625, 520461
Raised 15 days back to pick up the construction waste thrown by nearby construction site, mud accumulated in sector 7 area. No action by @MCF_Faridabad and see now after little showers the road has become a hell hole. @DC_Faridabad@cmohry
Sector 7, Faridabad - waterlogged again after today's rain. This is a sector where a 100 gaj plot costs ₹2-3 crore, yet basic drainage infrastructure doesn't exist. @mcf_faridabad@DC_Faridabad how long will residents keep paying premium prices for zero civic amenities?
@sabeer@lyka41574788 Sindhi is an ethnicity/language, not a religion. Sindhis can be Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, or other faiths. Post-partition, most Sindhi Hindus migrated to India, which is why Sindhi often gets associated with Hindus in India today, but that's not a religious definition.
The real criminals in India aren’t the petty officials taking small bribes. They’re the people who erode your freedom of speech, your freedom of thought, and your freedom to practice your own beliefs and pursue your own happiness. Petty thieves go to jail. Those who undermine fundamental freedoms are often celebrated. One day, I hope the people of India recognize the difference.
@sabeer Real science on mileage loss? Barely any.
Truth is, it's political - farm votes, import optics. Family business.
Govt shows off savings, stays quiet on what it costs the people. All burden on 1.4 Billion people.
@Finance_Bareek Fair point on the math, inflation erosion is real and often underestimated. FDs still have a role for emergency funds and near term goals where capital safety and liquidity matter more than returns. The mistake isn't holding FD, it is holding your entire corpus in them for decade
@sabeer Agree, there's a real difference between disagreeing with someone's views and abusing them for holding those views. One is discourse, the other is just harassment wearing free speech as a costume. Wish more people on here actually understood that distinction before hitting reply.
If you're in Faridabad and dealing with the same mess - flooded roads, sludge, garbage, broken civic promises reply/quote with your area. Let's make this loud enough that it can't be ignored.
#FaridabadFloods#MCF#CivicFail@MCF_Faridabad@cmohry@PMOIndia
Faridabad has genuinely become one of the worst cities to live in in the NCR.
Potholes, garbage, broken roads, and now this rain has turned entire stretches into sludge pits. And this isn't new, it's been the same story for years. A thread🧵
@MCF_Faridabad@DistrictAdm_FBD
One good spell of rain and half the city turns into a swamp. Despite raising multiple complaints no action was taken. This is basic civic infrastructure failing because of years of neglect, no accountability, and a municipal body that seems allergic to preventive maintenance.
