This is the "why" wrt tech approach, and i agree! But I'd also encourage junior eng to try and understand "why" from a business/ impact perspective for any project they're working on

Explain tradeoffs

A junior engineer will explain what they're building. You'll ask why. They'll say it's the right answer.

A senior engineer will explain what they're building, what other options they considered, and the pros and cons of each.
