FMG strike called off but was it a mistake by doing so after a successful ongoing protest ?

Let us decode the game played with FMGs :
• The NBEMS didn’t accept the main demand of granting compensation of marks to FMGs

• The NBEMS said fees will be reduced : but no mention of amount

• The NBEMS said FMG exam will be conducted 3 times a year which has two meaning :

First: Even if the fees is reduced most of the FMGs will give exam thrice due to short preparation time hence the amount they will pay for exam will make no difference from current price or even more (A smart move played by NBEMS)

Second : Reduced time of preparation and more panic to buy short courses which will benefit the coaching industry (A smart move that will benefit coaching industry)

In all ways i don’t find it a smart decision to call off the strike , rather a well played move by NBEMS .

FMG Protest 2026 — Who is actually winning?

An extra 3rd FMGE exam in Oct–Nov 2026.

No clarity on releasing the question paper and answer key — zero accountability and transparency.

So who benefits?

Directly: NBE will earn ₹20 crore+ from extra exam fees.
Indirectly: Coaching institutes will benefit from extra batches.

And who will continue to suffer?
Students!

Those who were peacefully preparing for Jan 2027 will now rush for the Oct/Nov 2026 attempt and try to complete the syllabus early, resulting in poor revision. After this attempt, they will also have less time for the January attempt. So, more students may end up trapped in the same loop.

This is the first kind of protest where those who were protesting got nothing, but NBEMS got a bonus—extra ₹20 cr+ new revenue model.

In a country facing a severe shortage of doctors, it is heartbreaking to see thousands of MBBS doctors protesting to seek accountability from National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, an arm of Ministry of Health, Govt of India, in Maharaja Ranjit Singh Park, Gautam Nagar, New Delhi.

Today, on the 8th day of hunger strike, Dr. Jaswant Yadav Ji continues his peaceful fight for justice, alongside Bharat Ki Betiyan Dr. Devi Meena Ji & Dr. Shahin, and Dr. Aryan yadav with Dr. Ashish & Dr. Ajam supporting the movement seeking reforms in Foreign Medical Graduates Examination.

This is not just a protest. It is a fight for dignity, transparency and the future of doctors in India. I find their demands genuine and want to tell all the protesting doctors that AAP supports their cause. Former MLA and AAP leader Somnath Bharti is in continuous touch with them. I have also learnt that Police and MCD under pressure from @bjp4india are causing every possible obstruction for them continuing their peaceful agitation, a right guaranteed by our Constitution.
