Across the country, thousands of truck drivers park their vehicles on highways in a shockingly careless manner. Every night hundreds of vehicles hit such dangerously parked vehicles.

In 2023 alone, 5,636 people died in India in crashes involving parked vehicles.

Next time you see a truck dangerously parked or stranded on a highway, please don’t simply drive past. Call 1033 or 112 and ask them to get it removed. That one call may save lives.

When I was looking for a placement fresh from the small town of Jabalpur with a law degree from a really small law college in 1998 and right up until 1999, I was told at the reception of four law firms never to come back again to them. It sounds nicer when I don’t reproduce what they actually said. I also found out that day that you didn’t need to abuse anyone to really insult & belittle them. Two of these firms are among the biggest law firms in India today. I have a rule today of never disheartening young people when they reach out, even if I can’t make space for them. What is the point of undergoing mistreatment and hardship if you aren’t going to learn something and try and change what YOU do?
