For lock with custom name, use ConcurrentHashMap<Long, ReentrantLock> map = ConcurrentHashMap();

Lock lock = map.computeIfAbsent(id, id -> new ReentrantLock ());

lock.lock();
try{
//process
} finally {
lock.unlock();

Read about Postgres Advisory Lock, its an app-managed, DB synchronized mechanism, similar to Java’s synchronized block. Postgres tracks the lock internally, session that acquires it continues while others wait. Works across apps, instances & doesn’t block normal reads/writes.

In Java/Spring boot - we can use ReentrantLock from util.concurrent.locks to lock the execution.

Lock lock = new ReentrantLock();
lock.lock(); //wait
lock.tryLock(); //skip
lock.unLock();

Note: This will help at application or JVM level not in case of multiple instances

Is this just me or are we all experiencing this? These days, whenever I write a small message, I just send it to a LLM and ask it to rephrase or improve the sentence before sending it to the sender.

God knows whether this is helping me or creates difficultly for my improvement..

@striver_79 I agree. There are many times when we need a human to explain our problem and ask for a resolution. This happens to me when I interact with e-commerce platforms, and these days it’s very difficult to get a human agent.
