Stop celebrating "mediocrity".

They look at your blood work, see you are in the "normal" range, and say you are healthy.

The truth is that "normal" ranges are based on the average population. And the average population is sick, inflamed, and dying slowly.

Labs take data from the people who come in for testing (mostly sick people). They chop off the top 2.5% and bottom 2.5%. The remaining 95% is "Normal."

Being "normal" just means you aren't in the bottom 5% of a sick society.

Take HbA1c for instance,
Normal: < 5.7% Optimal: 4.5% – 5.0%

Standard medicine waits until you hit 5.7% (Prediabetes) or 6.5% (Diabetes) to intervene. But insulin resistance starts years before that. Optimal health means catching it when it creeps past 5.0%.

"Normal" = Absence of acute disease (you aren't dying right now).

"Optimal" = Peak biological function (longevity & vitality) personalized to your biology, age, sex, and goals.

Relying on standard ranges is just waiting for a diagnosis, you aren't preventing disease.

This type of behavior comes from a reputed company.
It's been 2 weeks now since the sofa set which i ordered from @GodrejInterio4U is not even installed.
They'll console you by saying that they're doing their best but won't hear it when a customer says he wants it returned.

It's been a year now since i graduated from @10kdesigners. I was quite skeptical at first cause transitioning from a well paid career into a new one, at the age of 27 is really a big deal for middle class people here in India.

In the end all I would say is that it's never too late to transition from one career to the other. As long as you are happy with it, that is all that matters the most. People may object and say many things but always listen to your heart cause you're the one living it in the end.

Every opportunity gives us a chance to upgrade ourselves. And those who stay updated will thoroughly excel in this domain. Slacking will just push us behind and in the end we will get lost in the ocean of those designers who think Product Design is just Figma 😅
