I’m honored and excited to take on a new role as CEO at @MavenHQ.
I joined Maven almost 5 years ago. Combined with my prior stint at @TPT_Official, I’ve spent the last decade building education marketplaces. (Not the traditional path for someone who started as an investment banking analyst). I’m unusually excited by incentivizing and scaling great teaching.
At Maven, we’ve defined the category of live, expert-led learning. Our product makes it much easier to run a live course, and has inspired top experts to become instructors. They’ve now earned $100M+ from 100K+ student alumni. Students have increasingly been learning AI skills, which make up 80% of sales.
Recently, a new opportunity has emerged with B2B. AI has created an urgent need to upskill across roles and levels, and the Maven catalog offers a company-wide solution. We’ve set up pilots with companies like Notion, Lattice, and Salesforce, with great results. If you’re interested in exploring a pilot partnership, send me a DM.
I feel lucky to be joined by the high-agency, fun-loving, small-but-mighty team of 20 at Maven. I’m also grateful to have worked closely with each of our founders that shaped our team today. @gaganbiyani demonstrated how to lead with clarity and conviction. I’ll tap him often in his new role as Chairman.
Maven’s mission from 2020 was to “build the university of the future” - that remains, and has only become more important for professionals in the AI era. Pumped for the next chapter!
I believe multi-year tenures are under-appreciated, especially at early startups.
I recently crossed 3 years at Maven. In this time, we’ve grown sales 8X with a lean team of 18 people. As we enter a new growth phase, I thought this would be a good time to reflect.
The best PMs I’ve worked with are “full stack.” And I think the rise of full stack PMs will usher in a new golden age for product managers:
Companies are shrinking team size, AI is creating more leverage per employee, and product leaders are gaining more scope and influence.
For some PMs, this will be a challenge. For others, a huge opportunity.
To take advantage, you have to get your hands dirty. Do some of the analytics yourself, run growth experiments, and leverage AI to speed up your workflows.
You may never be as good as the specialists - that’s OK. You’ll be faster when you do things yourself, drastically improving your productivity. And when you have a team of experts to work with, you’ll be a much more effective leader because you can get in the weeds and work directly with the specialists.
I see this with Maven’s Head of Product, Rishin. He can work with nearly every team. He understands the business strategy, and also gets knee-deep on user flows and customer research.
PMs who can stretch like this will dramatically increase their scope and responsibility.
In our new series The Full Stack PM, we’ve brought together the PMs doing this best, to share their tactical tips with you.

@gaganbiyani I love launches like this because they unlock a new canvas for instructor creativity. Already seeing many inspiring and unexpected ways that instructors blend sync and async learning!
Today's a big day for anyone who wants to learn how to use AI.
I'm proud to announce Maven’s AI vertical. Practical, live, cohort-based courses taught by true experts in their field.
Here’s our vision for how you can use Maven to get you up to speed on AI 👇
✨ Big news: After 2 years of private beta and hundreds of hours of engineering work…
Previously, teaching on Maven was invite-only. That changes today.
Now, anyone can use @MavenHQ’s course builder!

Two years ago, if you wanted to build a course, you needed to be an:
- Expert
- Teacher
- Video editor
- Community manager
- Experienced marketer
Today, with Maven you mainly need to be an expert.
Here are 6 instructors & how you can turn your knowledge into a course:
I'm super excited that my Product Strategy course is featured in Maven's Marketplace launch!
I've really enjoyed being part of the Maven community. From a product perspective, here are some things I think they do well:
"Kahoot! at Work used in 97% of Fortune 500 companies for corporate learning and engagement; Kahoot! at School used by ~9 million teachers in the classroom"
Wow. Can't think of many other products with that penetration in K-12 *and* enterprise. Kudos to Kahoot!
@Kahoot is focused on improving lifelong learning with its unique portfolio of brands that sits at the intersection of digital learning and audience engagement. GA is proud to partner with Kahoot! as they strive to engage more users across their work, home, and school markets.
This is a striking stat: "Only 35% of those who quit in the past two years took a new job in the same industry". Highlighting a new era of lifelong learning + reskilling.
Over the past decade, $20B has been invested into US edtech, yet only 3 companies have gone public: @Coursera, @Duolingo, @Udemy. Many have written off the space.
🔥take: we are entering the decade of the “Learning Economy,” which spans way beyond traditional education. More🔽
