Why do streaming services make it impossible to just keep watching a show you're in the middle of?

I watch some episodes, return later, and am inundated with recos for everything else, except the one I was watching is buried.

What metric are they're optimizing for?

I've been playing around with a single Navigation / Control Bar to replace redundant tabs, and navigation, and instead have one that is smart to what the user needs in the moment.

Love this, but most academia structurally incentivizes the opposite. Profs build labs and recruit grad students to advance THEIR research agendas, so to drive publications and grants, which drive their careers.

So the system is fundamentally designed to reward students for joining someone else’s project, vs starting their own.

Whenever I hear someone say CC isn’t the face of the league, what I hear is “she doesn’t deserve it”, which is completely fair.

However it’s out of touch with the reality that ticket sales, jersey sales l, and general interest in the league follow CC - rightly or wrongly, that’s the fact.

I think W insiders are too engaged in the day-to-day that they don’t understand the 90% of people who watch are casuals and CC is who they know and follow.
