I’ve just released a new Tamil indie single called Naalai (tomorrow). It’s a self-referential, lyric-driven track exploring the quiet fear of tomorrow and emotional fatigue.

In recent times, this is the scene that completely blew my mind in the theatre.
the staging, lighting, cinematography and the performances of Vikram and Aishwarya Rai… it’s a masterclass from the master, Mani Ratnam.
Especially ARR’s music… I don’t have words to explain his mastery. How the hell does someone even think of this song for this scene?
bringing back the Chinna Chiru Nilave reprise in a female voice for this moment, that idea itself is a masterstroke. It just lands so perfectly in the scene.
I’m still stuck on it.

எப்ப இந்த பாட்ட கேட்டாலும் உள்ளுக்குள்ள ஏதோ பன்னும்.. and the way SPB has sung this song is….😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏
இப்படி பாட்டு பாட ஒருத்தன் பொறந்து தான் வரனும்!!

Still can’t believe this masterpiece album didn’t get the recognition it deserved because of the film’s result. Every track feels fresh, unique, and beautifully crafted. The variety in genres, the choice of singers, and ARR ‘s signature innovation made it one of the most versatile soundtracks in recent years..!

Never realised Anju Vanna Poove was ARR’s Then Paandi Cheemaiyile🥺😭
If not for that shit film, I think the music album would’ve received much much more recognition.
This edit is sooo beautiful 😭
