Let's stop pretending that VAR is neutral to the outcomes and impact of their decision making. It's discretionary, and there can never be consistency with discretion!

The new #UCL format will give #NUFC more opportunities this season!

Easing in Thiaw, Botman, Hall and Wissa in this squad will be key for success.

All in all, not a bad start!

Howay the Lads.

Wonderful St. James' on the return of Champions League football to the Toon!!

Should have been 2-0 in the first 20 mins. Finishing is what separated the teams.

Burn immense.
Gordon disappointing, despite the goal.

Murphy has to start more games despite all the competition.

[Rishiraj Lahiri @rishirajlahiri]

All my time as a fan, this fixture "never disappoints"!

Except for us! #NUFC. We have come close, fell short, and had heartbreaks.

The cup final started something. Today's game took it further. We will cross over to the winning side in this heritage fixture. It's coming. #HWTL

You just witnessed Premier League heritage.

It has finally happended!!! 😍

Toon Army India is now an official Overseas Supporters Club of @NUFC

We thank each and every one of you who helped us with the process🙌

Much more coming up from us as well, but for now, we'll take a moment and celebrate🥳

[Rishiraj Lahiri @rishirajlahiri]

Brighton has always been the bogeyclub! Amex the bogeystadium! The performance has, however, been quite uninspired so far. Need a spark from somewhere. May be it's Gordon's day today.

Big 45 mins today for the Champions League hopes..

@ToonArmyIndia Yeah, for the amount of chances we created, we were clinical in front of goal.

[Rishiraj Lahiri @rishirajlahiri]

I can't believe that was not reviewed for a penalty!!! The contact makes Isak tumble over!

#NUFC

[Rishiraj Lahiri @rishirajlahiri]

VAR probably overcompensated for the first goal offside call. Very lucky to get that point, unfair to be called handball that. We'll take it.

Need the best starting XI on the pitch now, gotta hand starts to Barnes and Willock.

[Rishiraj Lahiri @rishirajlahiri]

That looked offside on the replay! Why no VAR??? They don't show the lines to show onside or not!!

Leggy half this, much to improve.

@NeroChenqibin Yeah, thanks for the correction. First "home" game!

First game of the new season after our first relegation! A thumping win, Carroll hattrick, Barton goal!

Feels like yesterday! #NUFC 🥲

[Newcastle United @NUFC]

An @AndyTCarroll hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Villa 🎩
