so why should a user prove themselves?
beacuse:

1 ⇾ more than half of online and onchain interactions are from bots now.
so if you can prove you're a human,
apps can treat you differently from bot traffic.

2 ⇾ some stuff needs real people, not just accounts
examples:
– sites that have age limits
– stopping sybil attacks (one person farming 10 accounts)
– making sure each human gets one airdrop
– sending payments or recommendations to actual people
you can't do this cleanly without some kind of proof of person / age / identity.

3 ⇾ regulation
lots of platforms legally have to check age or identity.

4 ⇾ proving yourself unlocks better experiences
you do it so you can access better apps, features, airdrops, communities.
the stuff that only opens up once they know you're a real, eligible human.
