Capital Hospitals' Dilemma: One can witness the wrath of high ups on Govt's run hospitals in Islamabad. But people sitting in the power corridors always shy away from their responsibility to fix the core site of the issue now becomes an epic center. Let's take Islamabad's largest hospital, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, first. PIMS is the only premier institute of capital which is handling over 2.9mn patients annually. Hospital was built to cater around 0ne million patients annually. More than 1365 posts of doctors and paramedics were lying vacant while the hospital had 4,243 sanctioned posts. Shocking shortage of staff in critical departments like emergency, heart and burn centre was witnessed which treated over 11, 700 critical patients last year. Despite many requests to lawmakers, everyone turns a deaf ear. PIMS, despite other multipronged challenges, remains under huge stress as 57% patients pour in from neighboring districts, from KP & AJK in particular. The hospital conducted over 40, 000 operations last year despite having 86 ventilators for the patients. Despite crowded patients, the hospital's condition is apparently manageable and quite acceptable whatever I've witnessed. The same case goes with the PolyClinic Hospital though it has had a limited capacity. Become critical where its due but don't forget when, where & who played with Govt's institutions. Think

@baqirsajjad No patient is asked for any kind of payment at PIMS. All medical supplies are being provided by Government free of cost. If someone asks for money, it should be reported to PIMS admin immediately.

Please wear the mask while you go out especially in the open areas, parks etc. AQI of Islamabad is not better than Lahore and number of patients with chest infections/involvement are alarmingly high.

@MJahangirashraf@Islamabadies He was given ten vials twice. Mean 20 vials in total. Sole purpose of this post is malign the government only as it’s factually incorrect. He needed ventilator which were occupied. He was referred to other hospital to save his life.
@Islamabadies Anti snake venom vaccine and anti rabies vaccine is ensured to be available at all times in emergency. Spreading false information is compromising safety of health care workers who are also Pakistani.
@Islamabadies Almost 7000 patients visit everyday in OPD and 2200 patients are treated in emergency on daily basis. In emergency, ICU, and even wards medicine are given free of cost which is a huge step to provide services to patients. However implants are not provided by PIMS.
@Islamabadies Although bed capacity is 1257 at PIMS but patients are even admitted and treated on stretchers as poor people cannot go anywhere else other than PIMS.
@Islamabadies He was given 20 vials of anti snake venom. He needed bed in icu with ventilator which was not available and patient was referred to some other hospital to save his life.
@Islamabadies There are still 700 vials of vaccine available at PIMS. Spreading lies doesn’t serve any purpose. Yes PIMS is very over crowded. 7000 patients per day come in OPD and 2200 patients report in emergency on daily basis. This number is huge but PIMS never refuse service to anyone.
@KlasraRauf All essential and life saving medicines are being provided. However the load of patients is huge and it’s not possible to provide 100 % medicines to patients until the budgetary constraints are taken care of.
Dengue update: Avoid going out in the evening, drain all fresh water gathered around your house especially AC drain, wear full sleeve clothes. Stay safe
@Noormengal_ Unfortunately F-6 Cricket ground is grossly neglected. Lots of dust causing people respiratory problems along with sinusitis. Merely sprinkling water on the walking track can improve it. Your attention is needed plz
