Denis Cormier, a professor in our ISE department, recently had an article published on additive manufacturing and 3D printing. His article discusses how AM and 3D printing have increased the quality and reliability of products while reducing the production cost and time.
Samantha Sorondo, a student in our ISE department is researching metal 3D printing. "I characterize samples by performing metallography and important mechanical tests. When looking at a sample under the microscope, I look at the grain structure and direction."
